Who gets the highest up off the ground?
Who gets the highest up overall?
For ? 1 i would say LeBron or Nate
For ? 2 I would say LeBron with Josh Smith and Howard close seconds
Wade can jump pretty high too. btw, check out my new ps3 :D
Are you going off of vertical and highest reach because if that is the case Howard Smith, or Randolph should have it. if it is vertical then Nate would most like have it.
I would think Nate has the highest vertical.
Well, vert is how high you get off the floor sooo.
and the second one is basically gets the highest above the rim
Yo do you guys now that Randy Moss from the patriots has a 51 inch Vertical THATS NUTS!!!! But James white takes this even though he isn't on the least
Jason richardson probably has the same vertical as james white..... yea both are 44 and lebron is 42
MJ's 48 was unbelievable
Kadour Ziani ......Search this guy up. he has a crazy 60 inch vertical and he is 5'10
Pretty Old Video But hey this guy is the greatest dunker ever
i thought he had a pretty insane vertical that rivaled James White
Anybody know how high of a vertical Vince had in Toronto?
Here's a guy that can very well be the the craziest leaper right now
Golden Child of T.F.B.
Yall might dont know this but mike conlry jr has a 40.5in vert i didnt know that james white is an amazing leaper too
To the guy claiming 48's and 51's: you're an idiot. How many people can actually hit their head on the rim? If someone's 6'6" and can get a max of 42" off the floor that's exactly 10'. There's maybe - MAYBE - 5 guys in the league who can do it. Right now I'd say either Gerald Green, Joe Alexander or James White. All time probably Vince. Also, somehow people &$#%#&@! up combine numbers. There is no way OJ Mayo get's 40" off the ground, he's not explosive at all and I think they gave Joe Alexander a 38' or so and there's vids of him touching his head to the rim, so the simple math says he's getting at least in the 42-44" range.
this guy doesn't believe me......search it up and im pretty sure you don't dunk under the net einstein.......your infront of the net. So don't call me idiot if you don't have facts......
Any one from team flight brothers has the highest verticle
IN THE NBA THE HIGHEST VERTICAL IS NATE ROBINSON BUT THE HIGHEST VERTICAL EVER IS PROBALLY AIR UP THERE OR GOLDEN CHILD BUT BY FAR THE GUY WHO CAN TOUCH THE HIGHEST IS JAMES WHITE
OOO and its also rumoured that Travis Outlaw can touch the top of the backboard so maybe him
Sorry guru but Randy moss' vert is not 51. It's 43 that's a big difference. And that guy does not have a 60 inch vert . In one of his vids he says I have a 53 inch vertical and don't thin that that will increase. Also that is getting a running start and jumping off of one leg to see how high you can reach. NOT! How high your feet actually get off the ground. When you jump off of one leg your body naturally stretches out to give you more reach. Buy jordan's vert was a legit 48. And David thompson's was 46. And since you like facts you can go ahead and look all of those up.
P.S. I respect your opinions though
Whoever said Golden Child is the winner. That guy is freaky.
My goodness people. Jordan was recorded with a 41 at his peak, not a 48. David Thompson was reportedly tested by Soviet weightlifting coaches to have had a 48', but he himself is the only person to make those claims. The highest vert ever recorded at the NBA combine was 43" and tha's off the run, and there's been a couple of people to do that, Timmy Bowers, Nate Robinson and Vince. Just 'cause you read it doesn't make it so. There's maybe 10 people in the world that can get a legit 50" off of the ground. Ya'll are tossing numbers around without really understanding what ya'll are talking about. Do simple math and use logic and it pretty much figures itself out. And basketball guru, I do have facts. You're just pulling &$#%#&@! out of thin air or beliving something you read on the internet. If it's on the internet it must be true!!!
60 inches=5 feet in the air o.0
41 inches sounds more realistic
Remember reading something by Tim Grover talking about 41. Also, if anyone ever got 60" off the ground that would be the single most impressive athletic feat in the history of the universe, so basiclly: no it's not possible.
Nate Robinson gets the highest off the floor.
Dwight Howard jumps the highest in the air.
I think you also have to factor hang time with some players a also how quick they get up. In the columbine some players probably did get that high but more than likely they dont do it often. Some players are just natural pogo sticks they can get up high like nothing all the time. We may find out this dunk contest if Lebron can get up higher than Howard. Howard has reach and he can get up there. He also have to ability to hand and manipulate his body in the air. That behind the rim dunk is not easy to do. It is not about jumping high as it is having a decent amount of hang time.
LeBron looks like he shot out of a cannon
adrian wilson of the cardinals has a 66 inch vertical look it up on youtube.
WHAT???? He runs and tucks his legs man. He was maybe 36-38" off of the ground. I've got a vid of me running and jumping on the roof of my car that's 62", that doesn't mean I have a 62" vertical, haha.
My 62" vert!!!
people are making me laugh with some of theses verticals. 62 inches, come on. And I have to question Jordan having 48 as well. 48 is a lot. The top guys at the combines are usualyy like 42-43 inches and that is crazy good.
It's 'cause people generally don't know what they're talking about and just toss out random numbers. I remember during Maurice Agers last year at Michigan State a couple of different publications claimed he had a 45" running vert. He went to the combine and posted a 34" running vert. He lost almost a foot from hyperbole to reality. At my best I posted a 41.5 and looked like I was shot out of a cannon. Not sure where I am now, but probably about 6" lower. Here's me puting down an easy 2-hander. I'm 5'9" and 180lbs
People don't realize how high a true 40" vert is. That puts you in truly elite company, and a 50" puts you at a God-like level.
well they say gerald green has a 48 inch vertical at 6'8" and james white can almost touch 13 feet ar 6'7"
Dude, stop posting. You have no idea what you're talking about. Gerald Greens combine #'s are readily available and his vert is NOWHERE NEAR A 48". Do the math. If he's 6'8 he'd need a 40" to touch his head to the rim. By your estimated vert he'd be a full 8" over the rim, which I'm pretty sure we can all agree that that just ain't happening.
also, are we talking about standing vert off of one step or a running vert. Usually the nba prefers going by standing vert since that is more indicative of a players jumping ability. I think Gerald Green can hit his head on the rim when given a running start. Anyone remember his dunk contest where he blew out the candle on the rim? But standing and hitting your head is darn near impossible.
Speaking of leaping ability, have any of you guys seen the youtube clips of guys jumping out of a 3 foot deep pool with no hands? A couple nfl players were able to do it and an mma fighter named bj penn did it.
There's yet to be anybody at the NBA combine that can get a 40" from a standstill. The 3 people that I listed earlier that got a 43" got it off of 3 steps. I'm studying to be a strength coach man, so I really look into all of this &$#%#&@!. A true 40" from a standstill is bananas. At my peak I got a 41.5" off of 3 steps and a 35" from a standstill and had the guy who tested me [used to work for the Miami Heat] buggin'. Getting over 40" in any capacity is really impressive and as I said earlier there's maybe 10 people on the planet who can get over 50". That's why I get irritated when I hear these nonsense #'s being tossed around.
BJ Penn did that jumping out of a pool thing and he is only 5'5 or somethin. That is all about core stregnth and explosiveness. Im sure he has some crazy hops but that doesnt mean he is off the charts or anything.
only like 4 people have ever been recorded doing this. And Penn is only 5-9. He is the number 1 p4p mma fighter in America for those that don't know.
Penn did it more with flexibility than explosiveness. He can put his legs behind his head without using his hands. Think about that. He's also not the best p4p in America. GSP is the best p4p fighter in America, Anderson Silva is the top p4p in the UFC, and Fedor is the top p4p fighter in the world.
GSP is Canadian, so I did not include him as American, even though he is technicaly from North America. But if being Canadian makes you American, then I guess Andersen Silva is American too since he from Brazil wich is South America. I think all of that is reach though, so Penn is the best p4p American (USA) fighter. And I also don't think Silva is better then GSP. SO I give GSP #1 p4p in the UFC, although it is certainly debateable. Fedor is number 3 p4p in the world. I'm sorry, but if he consistently fought the best competition in the world, then he would have a loss or 2 by now. Beating guys like Sylvia, Lindland, and Man Choi do not make you number 1 p4p in the world.
I thought that's what you meant but wanted to be sure. Dude, Fedors recent decisions raise some questions but he was beating all of the best heavyweights in PRIDE when that was the #1 org in MMA. Also, Silva has DOMINATED 3 different weight classes now. Not sure if there's a better way to win that arguement, haha. GSP's a big welterweight and is he best fighter at his weight class, but there is no one who dominates the sport right now like Silva. He's lost only one round in the UFC [to Hendo] and makes really good fighters look silly.
whiteflash let me repeat my first couple words, "they say, I have no idea what his vertical is, once again "they say".
learn to read dude.
the highest no step vertical in nba draft history is a 39.5 by nick young of the wiazrds in 07, and some guy called kenny gregory in 2001
the highest max vertical in nba draft history is 45.5 by this same kenny gregory guy.
vince only had a 43
nate robinson and tim bowers had 43.5
Gregory played at Kansas and was in the McDonalds game with Baron Davis, Lamar Odom, Dion Glover, etc... He could get up but that 45 has an asterik by it on another site as it wasn't substantiated. I seriously doubt he was anywhere near a 45" vert.
Debating between GSP, Silva, and Fedor is like Kobe, Lebron and Wade. It is very close and I can't really prove that one is better then the other. Silva is amazing and has been clowning people. My thing against him is that I truly find him losing to be much more likely then GSP losing. He lost a round to Hendo when the fight was taken out of his world. I also thought he struglled the most against Lutter who was also able to take Silva out of his comfort zone. His wins over COte and Leites were unimpressive. His Forrest fight was eye opening though,I'll give him that. But GSP just dominates the very best competition and beats the number 2 guy on a regular basis, and he does it at thier game. His Serra fight was a fluke. Other then that, he has owned everyone since the the Hughes loss very early on.
As for Fedor, look at how many top hw's in the world he has not fought. Big Nog and Arlovski are probably the only top 10 current HW's that he has beaten. That leaves Brock, Barnett, Mir, Overeem, etc. Plus I've seen him get taken down by Lindland. Imagine what a guy like brock would do if they wrestled. AA had him backing up before the KO. I've been a die hard fan for about 7 years now, so I do realize that saying Fedor might lose to Brock makes me look dumb to a lot of people. But If Fedor was consistently fighting top 10 fighters, I think he would be more likely to lose then GSP would.
Anyways, no need to respond if you don't want, it's all good. I'm just glad to see somebody who know's their mma on here.
ll I totally see where you're coming from. Fedor hasn't really fought anybody outside of Arlovski [and maybe Sylvia] that was worth a &$#%#&@! in awhile. That alone tarnishes his image. The thing is he's so dangerous when he's in trouble. Arlovski looked to have him in trouble, then lights out. I do agree that Silva looked uncomfortable for a bit against Hendo, but as soon as he decided to he made the fight go where he wanted. GSP is a freak, and he makes people fight his fight, but to me he doesn't dominate the way Silva does. Silvas fight against Cote and the guy who kept hopping on his ass [think Leites but drawing a blank right now] weren't his fault. He coulda' been more aggressive against Cote but you can't make someone stand with you. Alao, Fedor was slotted to fight Barnett but Barnett tested positive for juice and basiclly brought Affliction down with him. In my mind anyone who can beat an in-his-prime CroCop is a bad boy, so maybe I'm biased towards Fedor, haha.
do you guys think they should take away fedor's top 3 ranking until he fights some legit top ten competition. I personally think they do and that they need to move lyota machida up to the top 3.
