What makes it sweeter

What makes it sweeter is that he did it on his former team who booed him throughout the game... The Alley-oop play was simply a heartbreaker and is one of many clutch plays by Vince against his old team...

AIR CANADA is still VC...

Great pass as well, right on

Great pass as well, right on the money. I love VC, but Toronto had every right to boo him. He quit on that team He played like garbage towards the end there, and then as soon as they sent him to NJ, he was playing at an elite level again. VC lost a lot of credibility around the league as a competitor right then.

you got a point

you got a point there man... That's what separated him from the elite... His lack of heart and the lack of will...

yeah, his last few years in

yeah, his last few years in toronto he was getting voted in to the all-star game becuase the fans but he didn't deserve it. People weren't sure if he quit on the team or if he had some injury problems and was tough for gutting it out. As soon as he went to NJ he looked like his old self and was earning those all-star invites and it became painfully obvious that he had quit on toronto.

I still love to watch him though. He was right in the the mvp conversations around 2000 when he played in the Olympics and had that ridiculous dunk over Frederick Weis.

Yup

Same idea with me ll... I thought he would compete with Kobe for the tag as the League's Best Player... Obviously, Kobe has done more wonders than Vince ever had... He fell in love with his jumpshot more than his ability to penetrate... All those could-have-beens and what-ifs if VC has the same determination and work ethic that Kobe, D-Wade and LeBron has...

yeah. He fell in love with

yeah. He fell in love with his jumper and being flashy. One of the things that seperates Kobe from other potential greats is his willingness to get nasty and play through contact and hit people like he did Artest and Dwight in the playoffs last year. Vince had all the skills though. But you knew something was wrong when he started jacking up 10 3's in games.

But I

But I give credit to VC in a way because if not for him, the Toronto Raptors would merely be an expansion team hoping to make it big... It's great that he made a name both for him and the Raptors during that time... I thought that with all their similarities in nicknames (AIR CANADA), almamater (UNC), shoe brand (NIKE) that he was going to succeed to Michael Jordan's legacy... I honestly thought that way at that time... Well, things are different now... Vince Carter got his wish which is to become Vince Carter...

Great pass, nice catch and

Great pass, nice catch and finish, but awful defense. If you allow an alley from that far out you royally screwed up, let alone on the last play of the game.
