Jason Richardson never an All-Star ?

J-Rich has all the tools as a baller.

Athleticism ---------A+
3 point shooting---A
Defense-------------B
Scoring ability-----B+

He is basically Vince Carter, but Carter is a freaking 8 time All-Star.
How come he has never been an All-Star? ! The league is kind unfair to him...

carter > richardson . career avgs. = carter = 23.5 5.5 4.3 1.2 0.7 | richardson = 18.6 5.3 3.0 1.2 0.4 . richardson is above avg player but the NBA(east or west) will always have 12 players better than him. atleast his a slamdunk champ dude..

Quit posting rubbish threads and hit the gym, man. You've got to carry the Deacons this year, after all.

I'm gettin reall annoyed

I'm gettin reall annoyed with people posting just to be ass holes. If u dont want to answer the question then dont post anything. Anyways, J Rich has never been an all-star because his team never wins. And when they do (which is rare) he isn't the best player on the team. When Golden State was winning, Baron Davis was definetley better than him. Now that he is in Phoenix, he is definetley the 3rd option behind Nash and Amare. Plus he has never really had any amazing seasons. There are a bunch of 20ppg scorers that don't make the all-star team

Ha ha ha! With all due respect, J-Rich isn't as good as you say. He's a very good scorer, but he doesn't bring much more than that. I'm not sure where you're getting Richardson being a B average defender. I've never known him to be such. His problem is the same as was with Ron Mercer. In the NBA, many players can score. But J-Rich has never averaged high ast number. His rebounding used to be average. But he just isn't better than the all-stars ahead of him. Manu Ginoboli used to beat him out, but Manu was also winning championships. He wouldn't beat out McGrady a few years ago. He'll never be better than Kobe. So there you have it. I'll give you a little leway.......Derick Harper was a heck of a point guard and he never made the all-star team because he played behind Magic Johnson and John Stockton. J-Rich just has to get better or win in the playoffs to make the all-star team.

Jason Richardson is Ricky

Jason Richardson is Ricky Davis incarnate. A good scoring shooting guard and high flyer who can give you 18-20, but i could list 10 shooting guards I'd rather have on my team, that doesn't make him bad, just not deserving of an all-star nod.

Richardson has been just

Richardson has been just screwed by being put behind better players and the only team that he play all star level on was GSW which did not win much. He just seem to be lacking slightly to be an elite guy. I mean last year guys like Mo Williams and Granger got in and I think that at one time he should be ranked above those guys. I mean to be honest if he had the hype of Roy, he would have been there by now. He just got his hype when he was clearly below so guys that were locks to make it and when it became more open for all stars, He was not putting up the same numbers.

Richard Hamilton has been an

Richard Hamilton has been an All star a few time and I think J Rich is at least on his level but thing is JRich mostly played in the West and his team were never as good as the Pistons.

Also, Rich hasn't really been the same since hurting his leg a few years ago. And why can't he score at least 25 ppg for a Charolett Bobcats teams that isn't that good?

Eh

J Rich is a good player, but nothing spectacular. He puts up decent numbers on bad teams and he's usually on bad teams. I think his defense is subpar. He is an amazing athlete and he's a good shooter from 3, but he's really not that efficient. He scored under his career average last year despite playing with one of the best passers in the league and on a team that putting up tons of points every night.

Agreed on everything that

Agreed on everything that has been said. And I dont know where Al Farouq got that J-Rich is a B defender. I've never seen the guy lock anybody up. Plus he isnt that great at creating his own offense. He is strictly a 3point shooter and a finisher on the fast break. Like someone said, it doesn't make him a bad player, he just isn't an all-star player. I would put him in the same league as guys like Correy Maggette, Ricky Davis(from a few years ago), JR Smith (for right now, i think he will be really good, but as of right now he's very similar to J Rich).

J Rich

Put it this way there are @ least 10 players in the NBA that will get a all star vote @ his position
Kobe
TMac because he's popular
AI he made it last year
Roy
Manu
Vince
Ray Allen
Wade
Joe Johnson
Iguodala

Fact is JRich will never get as many votes as those guys the all star game will never be based on talent as long as fans keep on voting

JRich hasn't been in

JRich hasn't been in all-star game because he hasn't been good enough to be an all-star. The fans only vote for the two starting guards, if he was deserving, then the coaches would put him on the bench. He is good, but he doesn't takeover games or get his teammates involved or lock guys up.

I love Jason Richardson

I love Jason Richardson... He's a guy that can make the crowd roar... He has that entertaining side of him which all basketball fans came to see... But the thing is, he is just that... He showed flashes during his early years... He showed how spectacular he can slam that ball, how he can shoot 3's and how he can trick players (the Boozer ball slapping then a 3 during the 2002 Rookie-Soph game)... He had a big chance to be an All-Star but we realize now that he will never be that... He was on a bad team for a long time that's why he never get noticed... He's a good player but he's not a Dwyane Wade type... I was hoping he could have had a breakout year with the Bobcats but that never happened... If he was to be the Face, he should have averaged 26 ppg but he never did.. Nevertheless, he is one of the most esciting players ever to play but sadly, that's about it... That's what he'll be remembered for.

usually i agree with most of

usually i agree with most of what you say shewlton but youre wrong as far as jrich being better then granger. maybe bbeing better then granger as a rookie but thats about it.. granger is just a all around better player then he is and honestly it isnt even close and i dont think anyone would make a straight up trade between rich and granger unless they were getting rich in return.. jrich is a good scorer though like someone said almost a mirror or ricky davis during rickys starting day. jrich has never deserved to be a allstar
