what do you think your team is missing to make it an even better team?
my team is toronto, and i think they need a strong low post scorer, a true center, because the killer B's(Bosh and Bargnani) are both kinda soft and like to take jumpshots rather than do post moves and slam on people. Also, both are fairly weak inside defenders, but the raps picked up reggie evans and rasho to help that off the bench, but they dont really score much in the post.
What do you think your teams need?
My team (lakers) needs some more bottle openers and some towels for the champaegn becuase next june we are gonna party like it's 1999!
A center. Samuel Dalembert is a player that I basically hate, and he usually does nothing right. I think we need a big man to be a good team.
My team is missing Allen Iverson hopefully they will have him tommorrow.
so the spurs won in 1999, dont you wanna party like 2000? haha jk jk
I stand corrected.
Mine is the Clippers and what we need is a miracle(i.e. no injuries and everyone has a career year). But, I know that is probably not gooing to happen.
The Pacers need a second option on the offensive end of the floor and most preferably for them to be a low-post scorer. To attract attention to the post and keep a little more pressure of Danny Granger. They also need a true floor leader at the point i'm not sure Ford is one of those in the NBA like he was at Texas. A player like Nelson, Billups, Nash etc would be perfect.
someone who is actually good at basketball
Ummm...Nothing really. Probably a solid back-up who is a banger and does the dirty things that nobody else wants to do...Someone like Joe Smith.
I agree with you about everything, except Ford. Give him a chance... I think he'll have a breakout year.
TJ Ford has been in the nba for 6 years...I dont see him breaking out IMO
r missing a star they have bunch of role players trying to carry a team all dey need is a star **cough cough lebron **
My team is the bulls and i think everyone on this sight know's what we r missing and that is a low post scorer. I would honestley kill just to see Amare Stoudemire come to us next summer in free agency. I really do not like Chris Bosh so i hope the bulls make the smart move and go after STAT. Imagine him running the break will Derrick Rose, I get wood just thinking bout it
Q... Yes, he's been in the league for 6 years, but you're forgetting his history. He was injured the last 26 games of his rookie season (2003-2004) in Milwaukee due to a spinal cord injury, which was career threatening. The injury kept him out the entire 2004-2005 season. When he returned in 2005-2006, he played well, but shared minutes with Mo Williams. The Bucks wanted to develop Williams, so they traded Ford to Toronto. The two seasons he was in Toronto (2006-2008), he shared minutes with Jose Calderon. He eventually ended up getting injured again and losing the starting job to Calderon. That's why Toronto traded him to the Pacers. Last season with the Pacers, he shared minutes with Jarrett Jack, but averaged a career high in points per game. Jack ended up signing with Toronto this summer.
My point is... He's struggled with injuries throughout his career and has never really been given the keys to a team. This upcoming season, the point guard spot will BELONG to him. The keys to the team will belong to him. He won't be sharing minutes with anyone. Reports coming from the Pacers are he's 100% healthy and has been a monster in the gym this summer.
Jameer Nelson had a breakout season at age 26 so who is to say that TJ Ford can't to te same.
My team lacks the low post scoring it needs to make it deep into the playoffs... If Amare is available and agreeable, that would be cool to have... Chris Kaman is solid, too, only when healthy but that would be a big risk to take... Looking in the long run, they could end up having DeAndre Jordan or Alexis Ajinca if they can be patient enough... The lack of a scorer is obviously overt... Without BG, there have to be another scoring option for the team... Hmmmm... Joe Johnson?
Tezo is a beast at breaking things down. I agreed with Q at 1st, but when you really think about it, Ford has been slowed down a whole lot by injuries. Ive always thought he was an all-star level talent, but he hasnt had the breakthrough season yet and he keeps having these freak injuries. I hope this year he does his thing.
When Ford was with the Raptors
2005-06- Ford Starter, Division Champions
2006-07- Ford Hurt, 7th seed
2007-08- Ford Traded, No playoffs.
When Ford was a Raptors he was a huge part of the team, he always took the clutch shot at the end of the game, and if he stays healthy i think he is an all star talent. It was a bad decision for the Raptors to trade him IMO, i may get some hate for this but I think he is better than Calderon. But now that he is with the Pacers, he has a better chance to put up good numbers.
As A Raptors fan, we still need a scoring SG that can contribute right now, we just brought in Belinelli who can help now, but I still think if we could get a hold of a JR Smith or Kevin Martin type player, we would be completely set.
Needs Vince Carter and Pietrus to shoot over 40% from 3
Blazers need Oden to play up to his potential and they'll be championship contenders this year.
like someone said, the bulls need a low post scorer and everyone says either amare or bosh.. But as a raptor fan i dont see bosh as much as a low post scorer anymore... He finally got a jump shot but now he fell in love with it and just spots up instead of posting up, maybe he will change his way with a new team, but id say chicago would be better off with amare.
My team which is the Celtics needs a decent backup point guard like a Brevin Knight or a Tyronn Lue because something is telling me is come playoff time we'll be regretting thinking Daniels can play the point effectively if we don't pick up someone
We are missing Dwayne Wade please come back home. The best homegrown back court ever Derrick Rose and Dwayne Wade....
