Just heard he has been suspended for the rest of the season. I thought 4-6 games would be appropriate, but I guess I can't really blame Oregon. I don't know much about his history of transgressions other then he was suspended by the previous coach and had missed some team meetings. But I just think he got a little bit of a raw deal on this one. The Boise player could have just walked away like Blount was doing, and nothing would have happened. You just beat him up on the field and embarrased his team on national tlelevision. Taking cheap shots at guys after that is uncalled for. And I don't think that was a sucker punch. The guy turned his head right after he said whatever he said and got hit. He can't say he was blindsided.
Anyways, I'm not a Oregon or Blount fan. But hopefully he becomes better from this.
He could've been a 2nd rnd. back. He just blew it. What the heck was in his mind! I mean I get pissed when I play B-ball and lose, but I dont punch the kid in the face. Just go cry in a corner....for the rest of the season.
Well, Blount should not have been talkin before the game.. You talk shit before the game and then lose--you better be ready to hear some shit back.
Yeah, I guess if you talk you better be able to take it as well. But after a tough loss, you should just leave it be. the Boise kid should have shown more class then he did. Oh well, it was crazy when I saw it live. I was at the gym and everyone stopped what they were doing and started watching the TV.
Since then, UConn has confirmed that Calhoun will be retiring and that there will be a press conference Thursday afternoon making it official. By then, Ollie may have an agreement in place with Huskies athletic director Warde Mauel, but no such agreement had been made as of Wednesday despite reports of the contrary.
