what if ricky rubio takes longer than 2 years to come over

wait now hes what 18 years old going on 19. so in two years he'll be 21 now what if he gets too comfortable in spain or whatever team hes playing for. to me i think he never wanted to play for minnsota. we all knew that when he got drafted. look at memphis who wanted him. but they knew he didnt want to play for a small market team.so they pass on him, okc did the same thing but they knew westbrook who will be a all-star in two years mark that down would fit them better.so unless minnsota trade his rights to new york or even the clippers a big market team. hes not coming over. he already said minnsota is too complicated in other words as long as it snows, and its a small market team, and flynn is there which hes not going away. rubio aint coming over to play for them.now what i see happening is he'll say hes coming over only if the wolves trade his rights.

it was a mistake drafting

it was a mistake drafting him in the first place. yeah they might get trade value in a few years but the wolves need help now! they should have taken a wing and kept calathes

I think Kahn got a lot of

I think Kahn got a lot of respect from Rubio for spending all that time in Spain and trying to do everything possible to get Ricky to MN. Yea, he is going to have competition in MN (unless Flynn is a bust), but I think he's going to have competition anywhere he plays- this is the NBA.

As for the small market, I don't think he really cares that much. Especially now, I don't think he has the power to force a trade and I don't think Kahn would pull the trigger even if Rubio did start being difficult.

I doubt Rubio waits more than the required 2 years because he'd just be putting his 2nd contract (the big one) further and further away. He'd also be even further behind in the NBA learning curve.

i think

rubio wants to go n.y because of the media outlets, the endorsements. they sell out every night. the nba would put the knicks on tv alot. the knicks would be his ticket to fame.

If Flynn ends up being a

If Flynn ends up being a legit starting PG then in 2 years when Rubio comes to the NBA the TWolves will simply look to trade him.  The Knicks would be a perfect fit.  I think Rubio would play well in the Knicks' offense.  If Flyn doesn't pan out then Rubio will be exactly who the TWolves need.  I believe Rubio doesn't really care where he plays as long as he is running the show.  The problem was just that huge buyout.  He would have lost a ton of money by coming to the NBA now.  He made the right decesion.  In 2 years he will be more mature, his game will be better, & financially he will be in great shape.  Worst case for Minnesota would be if Flynn is a bust & Rubio doesn't want to play for them in 2 years.  Still that wouldn't be the end of the world for the Wolves because Rubio is going to have a lot of trade value.

Also Minnesota drafted Norel (Rubios' teammate) so that could be a factor in Rubio wanting to stay with Minnesota.  He would probably like the fact that he has a friend on the team.

Anybody know anything about Henk Norel?  I wonder if he is staying overseas for a couple years too?

I think Henk Norel is still with DKV Joventut. Minnesota will probably keep him in Europe for a few more years and then bring him over.

there was some speculation

there was some speculation that kahn drafted norel so that he could 'buy out' norel's contract for the maximum allowed- 500,000, which would essentially double what the wolves could have contributed to the rubio buyout with joventut, even if they had no intention of actually keeping norel. i guess that's a moot point now, but that is creativity if i've ever seen it.
