What if Kobe went to Duke?

I read a article with him saying it was Duke he would have went to...no maybe!

It made me wonder, what if he went to Duke and played? Looking at his rookie season, he probably would have stayed a couple seasons.

Would he have went 1st overall in 98? Would Duke's ability to recruit today be different? More National Championships?

Talk to me....

Weird

Don't quite know what to say, but it didn't happen so I would move in because it would be in the past.

If he went to Duke I think

If he went to Duke I think he would average like 13-17ppg his freshmen season. They probably would win the championship with Kobe but im not sure because I cant remember who they had on there team back then.

I doubt he would have stayed

I doubt he would have stayed a couple season's. He was NBA ready as a rookie, he just did'nt get tthe type of minutes or shots that a lot of rookies get. He was already the best one on one player on the Lakers that year even with guys like EJones and Van Exel. He dropped 30+ in the rookie game. He dropped 30 on MIchael Jordan when they played and he was given minutes. He could have averaged close to 20 if he had gone to a bad team.

Philly

He would of had a very solid freshmen year, see his draft stock was really good, and enter the 1997 NBA draft. He would have went 2nd overall in the 1997 NBA draft, and if the Spurs didn't have very fortunate luck, the Sixers could have been the team deciding between Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan. Even if they were left with the 2nd pick like what really happened, the Sixers would have drafted Kobe. He would have been the homegrown son of the city as opposed to being strongly booed in the city of brotherly love.

One thing for sure: he

One thing for sure: he wouldn't have been a laker if he went to college, so who knows how his career would be like without LA.

i know rip and kobe were

i know rip and kobe were sorta of rivals when they were younger, i don't know if the years would have matched up (sorry i'm too tired to look), but that would have inflated the rivalry. a top shooting guard battle would be very entertaining and high scooring
