Darko Milicic

I know this guy has failed in the league, but he is with the Knicks in a fast paced game and has a Euro coach in D'antoni
My question is, if the Knicks don't resign D.Lee, who will start at PF? I mean more minutes for Darko, What do you guys see him doing? Is 14 and 9 too optimistic?
Maybe something like 8 and 6?

Well then

How about Darko go to Center? I forgot who they have at Center besides Eddy Curry's bum self.

14 and 9 is probably a

14 and 9 is probably a little much for darko. I see a best case scenario that he plays about 25 minutes a game and gets about 10pts, 7 boards and 1-2 blocks which would be a big help for a team had no serviceable big men last season and could not block a shot if their lives depended on it. Darko is clearly one of the biggest draft disappointments ever and that is why he gets 0 respect from anyone, however had he been drafted 15th that year people would see him as a solid back up big man.

I really think Jordan Hill

I really think Jordan Hill could be a good player. He should get alot of time this year and really be great come year 2. He is explosive and he has the tenacity, but its just a matter of polishing his game. He also is a better md-range player than I thought at 1st.

Darko at the most will get 7 ppg and like 7 or 8 boards. The move to the Knicks will make him more productive, but he still would be better off coming off the pine.

I hope you are right about

I hope you are right about Jordan but he definitely has ways to go. I see that he has a lot of potential and people say hes only started playing recently and he has been learning quickly. However for now hes not ready for serious minutes in the NBA and will most likely not play a lot next year, but with that athleticism and high learning curve, hopefully one day he can be a very good player.

Look for eddy curry to get a

Look for eddy curry to get a lot of minutes up front for two reasons. one is that the knicks really want to showcase that he still can play so some gm takes a risk on him. two is this really is curry's last chance to remain an NBA player past his contract so im hopeful that maybe that inspires him to play harder and earn his keep.

Darko

Although Darko hasn't proved much in the league, he has shown when given playing time he is going to block some shots, i'm not sure if he is going to tear it up, or even be very productive in New York this year, but if he gets over 20 minutes per game he'll give the Knicks at least 1.5-2 blocks per game. Worst case scenario I see him as strictly a shot blocker in the league, best case id say 13 , 8, and 2.5 type of player

Dark Man

I for one have always had faith in the Dark Man. In his earlier years in Detroit I will admit that he looked slightly awkward, enough to sometimes make you cringe considering who he was taken in front of, but I remember Rasheed saying the kid was a beast. I mean, he is a legit 7 footer, nice athlete and he is not afraid to get physical. I was honestly a little surprised things did not work out for him in Orlando, where I thought he and Dwight Howard would make a nice inside duo. I know injuries prevented that from panning out, but he showed flashes as he did when he got some PT in Memphis. I mean, for the amount he played in Memphis, he did not do half bad, and I honestly like him more than Marc Gasol. I kind of feel he got the raw end of the deal in Memphis and thought he deserved more playing time on that team, and when he got some he would put up some numbers. It has been 6 years of Darko being in the league, so at this point it is safe to say he will not reach the franchise player potential that many instilled upon him, but he is still 24 years old, has a new situation in New York and I still have faith that he could be a nice complimentary player.

At least he will be a semblance of a big man in D'Antoni's system, and I think that will mean good things. I think the 14 and 9 are very much reasonable expectations, though he may be slightly below both. He played very well for Serbia & Montenegro in international play, and honestly I could see him being a respectable center in the league. I do think that with rumors of him wanting to go back home and concerns about where his head was at, so New York might indeed be his last chance to prove he can be any more than a colossal bust. With career averages of 5.5 and 4, he has quite a bit to prove, but at 24 years old now is the time. He is on a team full of role guys with no true superstars and with a very player friendly coach who's system should fit Darko's athletic ability quite well and should benefit from him as a defensive presence down low. It would also be fairly cool for Darko to play with LeBron come 2010, if you were to say that would happen in 2003 many might have seen the combo as being Magic/Kareem on steroids (maybe a slight exaggeration, but Darko had huge expectations along with LeBron, big enough to the point that him being drafted ahead of a sure scorer such as Carmelo Anthony seemed quite legitimate, not to mention Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, who were both not really seen as sure things). I always said that the NBA would enter the Dark Ages (corny, I know, but I think it is funny), and on New York it is Darko's time to put up or shut up. I have high expectations and I honestly would love to see him do well. If Darko does put up maybe 12 and 8 or so, than we could be looking at big things for the Knicks come 2010.

I like what you said about Darko, its pretty accurate, but if Darko puts up 12 and 8 the Knicks are still on the outside looking in when the playoffs arrive. They are a team on their way up with D'Antoni, but with depth issues, and without quite the right personnel (especially at point guard, Duhon is a true point built for half court offense, and Robinson is not a playmaker)l to run the fast paced offense, and Lebron in a Knick jersey is no sure thing, its gonna take a little time for them to bounce back.

yeah 14 and 9...riiiiiiiiiiight i have zero faith in that even in d'antonis system. i agree with someones point about curry getting alot of min because they are trying to showcase him and get rid of him. are there een enough min for him to play awole lot with lee, harrington, curry, danio, jefferies( think they are trying to showcase his talent too)
