Will Derrick Rose be the best PG?

Im just wondering if anybody think Derrick Rose will ever be the best PG in the NBA? I think he will I know CP3 and Williams are young but Derrick Rose is as big and strong as Williams and as fast if not faster than CP3. I think Rose has more poteintal than both of them he just needs to develop on offense.

people can call me crazy,

people can call me crazy, but if I was starting a team today and I got to pick any one pg in the league, I would go with Rose. I do think he has a legitiamte chance to overtake Paul and DWill in a few years.

I actually think Westbrook

I actually think Westbrook could be better.
Their rookie stats are incredibly simular.
Rose averages 1 more ppg, 1 more apg, and westbrook averages 2 more rpg.
But if you look at stats per 48 minutes, things change.
Westbrook averages more points, .4 less assists and much more rebounds.
Westbrook is also a better defender.
I will get some hate from this, but I truly think Westbrook may be the better prospect.

yes rose is good but because

yes rose is good but because he slashes to the hoop a lot and we all know players that slashes fade out quick (Vince Carter and Steve F3). But of course because rose is on a better team then NO and Jazz but D. Will stay dyin every year and he's still the 2nd best and Paul because they're first round knock-out every year until they upgrade the 3 and a back-up 4.

I love Rose, but I sincerely
I love Rose, but I sincerely doubt he'll be better than Paul in their respective primes. With that said, there's enough age between them that by the time Rose is peaking, he should be the best point guard in the league.

Um...

Deron Williams has been to the Conference Finals and past the 1st Round twice, I should know. He took out my Rockets back-to-back.

You are surprisingly Deron Williams-friendly for a Rocket fan.

haha

Yeah. I support D-Will, but I hated him during those 7 and 6 games, but I couldn't help but enjoy how he took over some of those games. Now Boozer...that's a different story along with most of the Jazz. I HATED HEARING THE MATT HAPRING STORY, "He played Football BLAH BLAH BLAH" Who cares?!?! Sheesh. By the way, Thanks for the shoutout in that "Most Upside Post" R-Dot 13...I guess I don't get much love when it comes to that type of stuff because I can't always post on some topics or get there too late...maybe just not as good. Whatever it is, thanks anyways

Hahaha

I love Harpring. But everytime the Jazz play on national TV we hear the same football story. It gets annoying.

Stop crowning him the best, everyone has potential to be great

best no top 5 yes, not taking 1 series over a smaller pg he played well but Rondo dominated him in most of the pg stats.
So far he's shown he can't hit a jumper consistently or play D very well.

I got my money on Westbrook

I got my money on Westbrook being better than Rose as well. I think that CP3 will be a better PG than either of them. Also if John Wall lives up to the hype then he will most likely takeover when CP3 is on the decline.

No prob RickyRubio9.. Yeah,

No prob RickyRubio9..

Yeah, I can just see it happening..
But CP3 will continue to be hte best PG in the NBA.
But I feel Westbrook will be right there.

nobody is talking about

The fact that Point Guard is a mental position. Although I think that Rose has incredible athletic potential, I don't think he will ever be as good at managing a game ala Chris Paul or Deron Williams. Don't get me wrong, Rose is awesome but he isn't Williams or Paul.

hes a beast only special

hes a beast only special players put up 36 points in a playoff game against an all second team defender in their rookie year. i don't like comparing him to Paul their games are at all similar but look at the stats of his and Williams rookie years.
Derrick Rose 16.8pts 6.3asts
Deron Williams10.8 pts 4.5 asts
those numbers are a lot better than Williams and they both came out after one year, he has some holes like his jump shot but i agree his he could easily be the best scoring point guard in the league in a couple year.

Well if you put it like

Well if you put it like that..

DJ Augustin: 11.8 ppg, 3.5 apg
Mario Chalmers: 10.0 ppg, 4.9 apg

yeah they stayed in college longer..
but their stats are almost the same as williams, but will they be as good?
No, probably not.

Not to mention Westbrooks

Not to mention Westbrooks stats are much superior to D-Will's rookie season too.

ok for one everyone knows

ok for one everyone knows williams wasnt given the time that paul or rose got because of jerry sloan. he could always play but sloan likes to bring his rookies along slow. 2 im not sure why peopel dont mention how good westbrook is gonna be when they mention rose because westbrook is either slighty behind or ahead or even in the stats catagory and they both can take over games. and birdzilla yes what rose did was great in that game he had 36 but it doesnt just take a special player to score that much . there has been plenty of average players that get hot for a night and torch a good defender..toney delk had a good 35-40 against a good defender. house has scored alot against a good defender befor . these are nba players most are capable of torching players on a nightly basis. i think rose will be good yes its possible for a player with great potential to be better then a established star since we already know what a star can do but still wondering what a young kid with potenial can do. personally i dont think he will be better then williams or paul. and people need to stop with the ( his rookie numbers ewere better then his) how many players rookie numbers were better then kobe, jermaine oneal, or even deron williams yet those players ended up being better

as far as d will?....you do

as far as d will?....you do know jerry sloan mad him come off the bench as a rookie....he never plays rookies alot of min in the beginning...you put dwill in the bulls rotation as a rookie and his numbers would have been higher

umm

rose is a very good player. but taking over or matching cp3 and d-will be really hard .
westbrook and ricky are special players too and will be competing for the better point guards in the league for years to come. statswise westbrook yes is almost similar to rose while i think westbrook plays better D. i hope OKC get more wins this season

Why?

Has this become a daily topic? OK, it is this simple. Rose is FULL OF POTENTIAL, however he must put time in to be great, and even more to top the two the O P said. So your answer is: time will tell

Rose

Will be better than Williams...However, I don't see Rose EVER being as good as CP3. CP3 is truly a special player and I think he's the 2nd best player behind some guy named LeBron.

On the whole D-Rose and Westbrook argument-I don't see Westbrook ever being as good as Rose will be...Yes, Westbrook will be very good, but come on...Those stats of his are inflated. He played on a terrible, terrible team and put up good stats...So what? Lots of player do that.

lol...so why isnt kevin

lol...so why isnt kevin durant being called overrated?..he also put up good stats on a terrible team..same with eric gordan and brook lopez....isnt it pretty muhc how it goes when you are a good player comming out of college and get drafted by a bad team then put up good stats on that bad team????...many players in history did it...jordan,grant hill, vince carter..thats the oldest lamest excuse there is about a nba players skill..because they are on a terrible team there stats dont matter...simpl fact westbrook is very good..oj mayo, eric gordan also very good reguardless if there team is good or not...but according to you they arent..so we shall say al hortford is better then durant since he puts up good numbers on a playoff team while durant puts up good numbers on a bad team

Yea, I dont ever see

Yea, I dont ever see Westbrook being better than Rose. Sure he's a better defender, but I think Derrick Rose will be a great defender in time. When he clamps down he can put great pressure on the ball, which is rare for a PG his size. He can also get into the passing lanes when he gambles. Its a scary thought, but I think Rose is just scratching the surface of his potential. He doesnt always use his physical advantages (post-up ability, rebounding, defense), and he doesnt have the best understanding of the game all the time, but he's so gifted that it doesnt really matter. He will be the 2nd best PG behind Chris Paul, unless he gets a much better basketball IQ, which would make him a better PG considering his size.

i dont know whos gonna be

i dont know whos gonna be better but i do know no one has given a good reason why westbrook cant be on the same level potenially as rose..he gets in the lane at will..hi sjumper is gettin gbetter..hes athletic tall and physcially and he hasnt even nearly begun to scratch the surface since he hasnt been playing pg long. ive watched a couple of his games in person and before i did i didnt see what the fuss was about but after watching him go toe to toe wit dwill i was very much convinced. most people will continue to say rose because of the hype hes gotten for awhile just like people will do the same when wall and avery bradley comes it. they will always go with the more popular pick but wont be able to give a good arguement as to why westbrook, bradley cant be as good as the popular picks...also too the other guy whos name i forget. the bulls were a good team before rose got there with alot of good young players
