Alright, clearly theres plenty of debate on who the best PG in the east is, and there are so many different opinions on this site.
So this is what I think It looks like, after I thought through everything.
Can pretty much get to the rim at will, and we have said it forever, that if he gets himself a jumper, than he will be one of hte best PG and players in the league. He is very long, athletic and is also a great defender. He can pretty much do anything except shoot the ball.
A great player on a bad team, will have great stats, and be an all star, but will always be on a bad team. He is possibly the fastest player in the NBA, and can get to the rim easily, he also has a solid jumpshot, although it doesnt seem like it with his stats. He is a clutch player, and had quite a few game winners last year.
Tough to put him here after not playing last season, but he is definetly one of the best players in the league when healthy, and definetly one of the clutchest. One of the best scorers in the league, and is also a good passer. But he has to stay healthy, which he hasnt been for a while, Im looking forward ot his return this year, and hopefully he comes back strong.
You may think 4 is low, but he is still only a sophomore, so its way to early to say he is the best pg in the east, or better than the 3 before him. I expect him to have great numbers this year, expecially since he'll do more after Gordons departure. He is still so young, and can get so much better. I dont think he'l;l be an all star this year, but i think he will be for sure, next year.
A great shooter, and playmaker for the Magic. Orlando would have had a much better chance if he was at his best in the finals. An all star last year, and should be one more times down the road, when he is healthy he is a great player, not on the level of the 4 above, or below him though, he is right in the middle.
Rando id made better by his teammates because his defender will sag off him to help on the big three, if he left hed have defenders in his face forcing yhim into shots with his weak jukpshot,, his numbers would go up but i dont think hes at the leval of Rose, or Arenas, its debatable with Harris though hes a solid player but weak second option at best.
Not too high on Harris eh?
Well he was an all star last year, with VC on his team.
Harris is actually a very good #1 option IMO, he is 22-23 ppg scorer with 6-7 apg IMO.
so your saying hes better than Rondo?
I agree with u if arenas is healthy he top 10 in the league he's one of the purest scorers Rose is nice too the east point guards is just loaded in my opinion if u put any of the top 4 number 1 i wouldve respect your opinion
The only 2 realistic answers here are Rondo or Rose.
No, Im not, those are the numbers that he will put up as a Net, he doesnt have a very good team.
Rajon Rondo is a triple double threat everytime he steps on the court, plus he is a key part of a championship squad.
If Rondo was a Net right now, he would put up fantastic numbers.
But what Im saying is, Harris is a very good building block for the Nets future to build around.
I'm not a big fan of Rondo, but the way you put it. You convinced me. Haha.
How 'bout doing one for each position in each conference? :) I'd look forward to it. This was pretty good.
All of it as 1 topic?
Or just a topic for each position?
Well...it'd be better one topic for each one, but people might get annoyed because it is ten topics.
idk. It was just an idea
yea i agree with rickyrubio9 u need to this for every postion in each conference
Alright I'll do each position as a topic each, just so we get more discussion, but I wont do them all at the same time so people dont get mad
yea people might get annoyed but as long as u make them wirth reading who cares i will read them
^ that would be my list if it was going by best player, not pg( Arenas and Harris are natural 2 guards )
You think Harris is better suited for the 2 Spot then Point Guard?
Yeah, he is a shoot first type player and not that great of a playmaker in terms of running an offense, creating for others being a leader, setting up the offense . he don't do any of that tooo well
lol, oh yeah. Where's Ice-O at man?!? lol
I think he did a solid job at setting his teammates up last year, he averaged 7 apg. He also is the size and the speed of a PG.
I dont think he would be as successful as a 2 Guard IMO.
he is what 6-3-6'4 that's not too small, but anyways he did get 7 asts a game but i wasn't in the flow of the offense , it was from either pushing the ball on the break or penetrating and dishing when he can't get his shot off at the rim. he is like Tony Parker, a 2 guard in a PG's body.
yeah i think he is apoint guard he just scores more than the average point guard him and arenas
If Arenas and Harris were 6'6 a piece they would be clearcut SG's in the NBA , that's the way they play.
He does play a lot like a 2 guard, but he seems to be doing a pretty good job at the point, and I just dont see him being able to do what he does now playing SG.
If they were 6'6 they will be better because they be tougher the guard and they could shoot over anybody
If Arenas was 6'6-6'7 and had the skills he has now, he would be scary good.
I think both Rondo and Harris and nice young players but if I had to choose I would pick Harris. Harris D is legit too but he does grab as many board but in reality a point guard should not be doing this anyway. Harris is a lot better shooter and both are hard to keep out of the lane. Boston would be better with Harris in place of Rondo.
Harris and Rondo are so close IMO, I think that if either one of them were at the top of someone elses list i would agree, I just gave Rondo the nod because he is such a key part of a championship team while Harris is on one of hte worst teams in the league.
I'll take Deron Williams, Chris Paul and Tony Parker over all of these players...
(Mo Williams anybody?)
I would take CP3 D-Will and Parker over them aswell, they are the 3 best PG in the NBA as of now.
I already mentioned Ice-O a.k.a Mo Williams.
Perfect list and I feel Rondo at 1 is perfect
