We all know how I feel about

We all know how I feel about Wall, but these players are from different generations , Wall right now is a far superior player than Cheeks was in his prime, as for the comparison Cheeks was a avg. athlete and had avg. speed , he wasn't a scorer by any stretch, he wasn't flashy, i don't see the comparison at all really

Hmmmm....ok

Because from that statement I thought you were implying that Wall, right now is better than Mo-Cheeks ever was...Which to be honest, is a joke...Mo-Cheeks was one of the best defenders in the NBA in his prime. Not to mention he was a multiple time all-star...If Wall was in the NBA right now he wouldn't average over 13 ppg...

That may be true, but

Mo didn't play 35 years ago. I get what your saying though, but come on...John Wall, for all the talents that he has, is still a bit of a project. He has no jumper, turnover prone and isn't a very good leader...I think John will have a better career than Mo, but to say that this 18-19 year old kid right now is better than prime Mo is a little ridiculous. Especially considering that he's never played in a college/NBA game.

Very true

Yeah, I've read the same thing...Off the court issues are a lot bigger than a lot of people realize. It's ruined some peoples careers.

ok no harsh feelings right, sorry for coming on like an a$$, Wall is a bit of a project no lie, but Wall's has a substantially higher ceiling than that of Mo Cheeks, and sorry i was exaggerating the 35 yrs thing more like 25

Hahha yeah.

It's cool. But yeah, I agree...Wall has an enormously high ceiling and has top-10 player potential. I was just saying that for all the talents Wall has, he has some weaknesses. Still plenty of time to improve.

Only comparison I see

Is the height and strength...Outside of that, I don't see one. To be honest, I don't know if Mo was a good shooter or not...If he wasn't, then maybe the comparisons are partially valid.

I don't really see the

I don't really see the comparison between the two. Cheeks didn't have the athleticism and first step of Wall and also didn't push the ball at his kind of pace up the floor. Cheeks was a better passer and a superior defender than Wall at this stage in his development.

Personally, I will admit only based of highlight tapes from the seventies, I think Walt Frazier is the best comparison for John Wall if making a comparison from different eras.

no, i don't see it, if

no, i don't see it, if you're comparing him to a player that play a while ago, compare him to a bigger kevin johnson, uber athletic, not a great outside game, can get teammates involved but has a score first mentailty.

Nice comparison.

That's a better one...I still think Wall has a pass first mentality, but that's just me.

I pretty sure we can't

I pretty sure we can't compare him to legends right now......but i see him as derick rose right now.

For some reason i think this guy will become worse in college.....and his stock will decrease

Yeah obviously Wall has a

Yeah obviously Wall has a long way to go before he's legitimately compared to an NBA legend. But Wall and Frazier have some uncanny similarities in skillset and style of play.

Tired of this guy

Why does everybody keep bringing this guy up like he is the next coming of M. Jordan. Let's see how he does in college before we crown him the next great one. I dont see how you can compare a Highschool kid to Mo Cheeks one of the best PG's in the NBA when he played.

I see a lot Derrick Rose

I see a lot Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo in Wall. he has the jump shot, body build, quickness and 1st step of Rondo and the playmaking ability, height, and athletic ability of Derrick Rose

basically any player who can jump and is fast and has handles has a very high ceiling right if they are a guard, big man and if they are somewhat raw?
