do you think he will be able to come back as a good player?
He won't be able to come back as an elite player, but I certainly do think if he gets the playing time he wants he can still average 20 per game. I would like to see a team like Charlotte or Milwaukee take him.
Everyones has been acting like he just cant play anymore. He's still an above average player, who could add at least 20 ppg if he gets the chance. He just wasnt a good fit in Detroit, but he should be with someone in the NBA, as (at the very least) an instant offensive piece.
Everyone is hating on Iverson and he wont be great anymore but he is still way better then average and this year in denver he was still putting up 27 points
We know that, everyone should be able to agree that he can drop 25+ any given night, but hes not going to bring your team to the finals, and what effect will he have on team chemistry?
Hes going to end up on an NBA roster, but most likely a roster thats trying to sell some tickets rather than get to the finals this season
Who expects him to get a team to the Finals? He's like 35, no team should expect him to get them to the Finals. You'll be disappointed every time if you expect a 35 year old player to be the missing piece to get to the Finals. He'll produce scoring and playmaking but for you to expect a 35 year old guy to get you to the Finals is too much. And he wont have to big an effect on chemistry. He'll produce on a team, and if he goes to a contender, you will have a leader that will make sure he doesnt disrupt the "chemistry" of a team.
Houston... and I'll explain why, if McGrady doesn't come back healthy and soon we can get Iverson for a year and let him score, that's what we need, scoring. Iverson can still do that. It's a small backcourt with Brooks and Iverson, but our team is said to be fast breaking more often without Yao or McGrady or anyone who will stop the ball. Iverson will do that at times, but at least he will help bring fans to the game and give us hope. If Mac comes back we can put him off the bench and ease him in instead of throwing him out there. From there it'll get complicated, but if Iverson will go to the bench or McGrady then problem solved. Heck, we could move Battier to the bench, T-Mac to the 3, and play a lineup of:
PG - Brooks
SG - Iverson
SF - McGrady
PF - Battier
C - Scola
It's small, but I think it can be effective, then switch it around with Ariza, Landry, Lowry, Hayes, Budinger, Andersen, and Barry off the bench. I just think he's a nice fit in Houston and fills what we need.
iverson better than brandon roy i cant see him leading a team out the first round
You think Iverson is better than Roy right now? His career I would agree is much better than Roy since he is a future hof, but as of right now Roy is clearly the better player.
