My Dream 2010 Scenario (And What OKC Fans Should Be Hoping For)

The perfect scenario next summer for me has OKC having 2 top 5 picks in the draft even though they improved as a team into the 30-plus win range. I believe they would then go after two big men to form the next generation Twin Towers combo out of a pool of Derrick Favors, Greg Monroe, Solomon Alabi, Cole Aldrich, and maybe Larry Sanders. That would be truly incredible and it would give the team unreal flexibilty with lineups. This scenario if actually possible too if Phoenix finally self destructs after the trade deadline (Hint Hint). Oh yeah and don't forget the loads of cap space OKC will have for 2010's free agent period...

Depends. I don't like the Twin Towers Idea, it never really worked. With that Cap Space.....Presti better throw some to Durant, Green and Westbrook

i think their a 40 win team,

i think their a 40 win team, Harden will have a solid year, and they dont have as many holes as they used to i think they will win a decent ammount of games.

they should

give durant the ext he deserves, draft a true pf and trade green in a couple of seasons. i do not think he has a role in the future of this team. he is a sf playing pf and most likely he would want out of okc soon.

Q do u mean you don't like

Q do u mean you don't like the idea of drafting two big guys (like E curry and t chandler?) or do u mean just in general... cuz pau and bynum/pau and odom were good twin tower combos last year...

No way they win 40

No way they win 40 games....Harden isn't going to have that big of an impact. I mean they only won like 23 games last year. The West is loaded & the Thunder are going to get abused with no good Center & Jeff Green playing PF. I think they will have a top 5 pick. I think the Suns pick will be late lottery in the 11-14 range though. Still I like the idea of the twin towers. I would pick Favors & Larry Sanders.

Wow

Wow you fellas are young! The Twin Towers model I was referring to was used on David Robinson and Tim Duncan and it worked perfectly, like championship perfect.

Both, I don't like having 2

Both, I don't like having 2 big man over 7 feet together on the court. In History, it never really worked.

Odom, Gasol and Bynum was a great rotation but neither of them were #1 options.

Durant would be the #1

Durant would be the #1 option... forever. I don't think it'd be that bad of an idea, personally.

If we

If we could get Favors with our first pick and then Monroe or Alabi with the second pick that would make me a very very happy man. I agree with those of yall that say the cap space is going to sign their own stars.

I really don't understand

I really don't understand this thread. How are you going to get two top 5 picks? The Thunder should be in the 9-14 range and Suns 11-14 range. Your not getting that lucky

LOL.

David Robinson and Duncan? By the time you drafted Duncan, Robinson was on his way out. I thought you meant Ralph Sampson and Hakeem Olajuwon.

Duncan and Robinson???

Duncan and Robinson??? mentioning that combination alone is disrespectful!! NO big man coming up will be as good as one of or if not the best big man to play the game... t. duncan and don't let me forget d. robinson hall of famer sorry but high school/college talents just don't learn/have the same skill set any more... your better off talking about a twin tower combination that compares to c. bosh/ a. bargnani or l. aldridge / g. oden

and thank u gatorheel for telling it as it is(besides from the whole u think GSW are making the playoffs HAHA!!).... there is NO WAY OKC wins 40 games next season! the one thing u know about the NBA is that YOUTH doesn't EQUAL VICTORIES!!! k. durant will score his 23 to 25 pts/g... westbrook will show signs of a up and coming star once again... Green is a solid role player and same will be said for Harden. and the year will end with OKC winning about 27-30 games.

funny, how you call me a

funny, how you call me a retard and you dont know me.

Yes, they won 2 titles but no depth? Mario Elie, Sean Elliot, Steve Kerr, Malik Rose, Antonio Danlies....come on now these guys were good.

2003- Parker, Ginobli, Stephen Jackson, Steve Smith. Ok, no depth

Go do your HW kid.

Also....The Hornets and Rockets did this. Mourning and Larry Johnson did not work. Hakeem and Sampson did not work the way they thought it would....idiot

Thunder

So are we just giving up on BJ Mullens? I really like his potential and athleticism. I like the Thunder, but to have them winning 40 games is ridiculous. I love Westbrook, Harden, Durant, Green, Weaver, Mullens, Livingston, and Sefolosha, but you've got The Lakers, Spurs, Hornets, Mavericks, Trail Blazers, Clippers, Nuggets, and Jazz as the playoff teams. The Thunder are in the same boat as the Kings, Grizzlies, Timberwolves, and Warriors, all of which have bonafide studs in Kevin Durant, Kevin Martin, Rudy Gay and OJ Mayo, Al Jefferson, and Monta Ellis, potential studs in Westbrook and Harden, Tyreke Evans, Marc Gasol, Kevin Love, and Stephen Curry and Anthony Randolph. Given time I'm sure all of these teams will have multiple chances to contend IN THE FUTURE, but as of now, it's nice to dream. As far as attracting a big name to Oklohoma City, to play with a (great) player who needs the ball, and not to mention in those GOD AWFUL jerseys, good luck.
