ROLE PLAY:THE GM

Now the maloofs just hired you as their new gm. and your first year on the job was very stressful. you guys only won 14 games in the 09 season. the fans are not supporting the team. the maloofs are threating to leave the city, the fans hate the coach Paul Westphal , tyreke evans is struggling to play point, meanwhile kevin martin is putting up all-star numbers like usual, but you guys cant keep both of them.(martin, evans) thompson is playing better too he avearge 15 ppg 5 reb ppg, while spencer is always getting hurt. anyway you guys won the first overrall pick in the 2010 draft. and everybody knows your picking wall. anyway you decide to wall. so now you gotta trade evans or martin.
and it times for free agency you going after guys like Darko Milicic,Antonio Daniels,Marcus Camby,Tony Allen.
so what do you do. do you fire coach westphal and who would be like your replacement.
who do you trade evans a player who can reach his potential at the 2 spot or do you trade martin -a young player whos putting up all-star numbers .
and do you get rid of spencer or do you decide to hold onto him.
and which two free agents do you sign.

what I would do

Fire Paul Westphal and hire Patrick Ewing and give him assistants like Dave Cowens, Paul Silas and Mark Jackson to ease the 1st year process like they did in Chicago with Del Negro

Since your in super rebuild mode, I'd trade Kevin Martin n a filler like see if you can get some 1st round picks, or get a big like Tyson Chandler

Keep Hawes for at least half of the upcoming season and see if he can develop into a solid center

I'd sign Anthony Morrow to back up Evans and either Brendan Haywood or Kwame Brown to give Hawes some solid relief if you dont get Chandler

your starting 5 is.....

John Wall
Tyreke Evans
Donte Green or Omri Casspi
Jason Thompson
Tyson Chandler

Stock pile draft picks

Committ to rebuilding you have a few young guys play them. I would trade Martin to get rid of his contract also he plays very lil defense but maybe I can get back legit big man or PG. Play Tyreke you drafted him play him even if its out of positionn. Try to unload 1 of these guys Nocioni, Udrih and Garica off your hands for some picks even 2nd rounders. Draft the best PG out there next year assuming you don't land Sessions. I don't think Ewing is the answer he hasn't done much with Dwight Howard on offense he seems to be better suited as an Assitant coach. As for Tyson Chandler he's a decent player but if your not special playing with CP you won't be much w/out him. This team is loaded with SG/SF they need a PG and C bad easier said than done though. Kwame Brown wouldn't be a bad signing he's an underrated defender. They need bigs as well Hawes and Thompson aren't enough but getting older guys like Daniles and Camby isn't going to help them much.

What I would do

First of all I would not trade any of my players, except for maybe Hawes, or maybe he can be the backup to say Brendan Haywood. Martin is a star and I think he is the leader of this team, just like Roy is for the Blazers, LBJ is for the Cavs, Kobe is for the Lakers. You do not trade your leader of the team unless he demands it like T-mac did in Orlando, and KG did in Minny. Evans played SG in college, so he should have no problem playing it in the pros. I would fire coach Westphal, and hire probably Avery Johnson, or maybe Mark Jackson, both of them seem like solid coaches, and have good runs in that field too.
So first on the list is to look for a new coach(Johnson or Jackson.) Then try and trade Hawes, see what your offers are, and if they don't look good than keep him and sign a free agent Center, someone who can play good down low and teach Hawes some tricks and help him play the Position better. Maybe an old one like Camby or Haywood(More so Haywood.) Then I would try and trade Nocioni, since he does not really fit on the roster. You could probably trade Nocioni for a Center, and get better offers, since he is better then Hawes. Both Udrih, and Garcia seem like solid Backups to me, and Casspi can learn more under Garcia and Martin. Sign a free agent SG also, to backup tyreke, and also a PF to backup Thompson.
Starting five/backups
Wall/Udrih
Evans/free agent signing
Martin/Garcia/Casspi
Thompson/free agent signing
Trade for Nocioni/Hawes
That is what I would do. I think I make a good GM, what do you think?

fire the coach and hire

fire the coach and hire Johnson. pick Wall, sign Tony Allen. as a backup and pickup Marcus Camby. i think Hawes could learn behind him, i think they should go with an uptempo style with Wall at point and Evans at the 2. do a sign ANd trade with Martin and May who will be a good player but wont fit the style for Gay, and Carroll, (good uptempo player) then trade Hawes for Thab Sefalosho and Nick Collison
Pg Wall Evans
Sg Evans Sefalosho
Sf Rudy Gay Tony Allen
Pf Thomson Carroll/Nocioni
C Campy Collison
did it quickly probably wouldnt work but just for fun.
