John Wall destroys Jerry Stackhouse
I like to see him play....I just dont like the "HE'S THE GREATEST DONT QUESTION HIM!" approach people are taking with him.
Slow Down, he's 19. BTW, do you know why he played HS ball for 5 years?
I have no clue. I mean to be honest, I like the guy and I think he can do something in the NBA but when people throw TOP 5 PG, Best PG ever and etc, I posted that Javaris Crittenton was the same player in HS and ppl got mad.
i know about that summer leauge. it used to be at my old college when i played college basketball. i actually played in it. Most nba players from nc play in it including players from duke northcarolina and the other area schools. Do not take to much stock into it because alot of the hs college and even street ballers make some of the nba players look bad but dont make it to the leauge
He makes play that Crittenton has never made. Crittenton was an explosive player with a below average jumper like Wall (better than Wall's though), but Wall's athleticism is on a different level than him honestly. He also is a true PG, while Crittenton is a combo guard.
i just finished watching i thought he actually destroyed him as in the whole game not dunk on him, which isnt that big of a deal seeing as stackhouse isnt what he used to be. Now stackhouse in his prime or even comming out of hs and that ball would have been stuck to the glass or thrown out of bounds
in his jarvis was a true pg also...he actually averaged more assists then wall and did alot of similar dunks including a windmill on some dudes head during aau with the atlanta celtics (was there it was nasty)
The media and the fans need to get off him and stop hyping him up. He hasn't proved anything to me yet .I say let him play some college then evaluate him. I think I know why he is a 5th year senior because he failed a grade or transferred.
He was a combo guard at SACA in HS, I went to Greenforest about 5 years ago and they were in our region (we play them 2 - 4 times a year). They had short PG's and he ran the point for limited minutes back then and he made silly mistakes at times when he played PG at Tech as well.
Remember....They mass hyped Telfair when he was coming out and then when he sucked they turned on him.
Thank you QH, I knew someone saw him comparable to Crittenton.
as far as who was better im not sure..now if it went by both of there real senior year it was jarvis but i cant say who was better if jarvis was able to play a extra year in highschool. i do know wall was faster and a lil bit more athletic. jarvis was bigger and taller and alot more physical. when they both decide to really play d wall has him there. wall's better at finishing with either hand id give jarvis a slight edge with shooting but jarvis wasnt that good of a shooter either. its just hard for me to say because of that extra year, some wall supporters say a year doesnt really make a difference but in reality it does. could yall imagin if brandon jennings got another year in highschool after destroying everyone in his senior year? or lebron dwight howard, or even kevin loves, beasley eric gordan? the difference though is they were still highly ranked as jrs where as wall was not that highly ranked yet. Some players have gone from a scholarship from utah valley state in there senior year to arizona by playing that one extra year against highschool kids again
what's more impressive Crawfords dunk on L.B.J. , well sort of ? or John Walls dunk on Jerry?
Lebron barely got dunked on and it was by a bum, the dunk also had sooo much hype and cotroversy and was , lets just say , nothing
Wall had a crazy dunk on Jerry a former all - star who but he is on his last legs , who wins?
Big deal, everyone who steps on a court gets dunked on at some point. Looked to me like the real burn came on Wall's initial move to the basket. Whoever he made that move on looked the fool, Stackhouse was stuck in no-man's land where very little could be done to prevent the inevitable. Impressive play by Wall and yeah, Stack is about finished but even had Stack been in his prime the result very well could have been the same. It's a catch 22, stand there and watch the offensive player dunk and get labeled as lazy on D, or go up and try and block the dunk and likely miss the block attempt adding to the glory of the dunker. Good fun...
Wow that was so awesome!!! He just dunked on a 40 year old with bad knees that wasn't even guarding him. Stack didn't even play this year. That is soooo amazing. Seriously, I haven't got to see much of the kid, but I am sure I will this year. Dunking on somebody just doesn't prove much. Probably anyone that has played enough basketball has gotten dunked on, unless they play against horrible competition or move out of the way when a guy goes towards the rim.
Q,
Sebastian Telfair is 5'11... John Wall is 6'3?... that could have something to do with why Bassy never really made it. That, and he had Starbury to look up to his whole life- look how he turned out! Bassy probably grew up trying to be a lot like Steph, which we all know is not the right way to go about being successul.
I'm not saying Wall is going to be the greatest, but I think he's a much better prospect than Telfair was... Telfair was allllll hype... As far as I can tell, Wall still hasn't had a documentary made after him.
Badger...I'm from Brooklyn sir. I have fam that know both Marbury and Telfair. Telfair never looked up to Steph. Ok, so then Javaris Crittenton then, he is not a star in the NBA and had similar game to John Wall in HS.....
lol... telfair never looked up to steph... he's his older cousin. steph made it to the NBA. how could he NOT look up to him. that's inevitable.
Lol, of all the examples you could come up with, Mallstax, you come up with the guy who had the most severe-looking injury I've ever seen and... Marko Jaric to prove your point? wow, really goood point LOL
All things being equal, wouldn't you say it's an advantage to be taller (but more importantly, to have longer arms- which is generally correlated to how tall you are)? I think so. I know height isn't everything, but I definitely think that if Bassy would have been bigger, he would have been better/more successful
actually its pretty comon knowledge in ny that telfair didnt look up to step because of some personal family issues (steph basically treated bassy and his family like they were just some next door neighbor as far as finacially) which didnt sit too well with the family. bassy actually looked up to his brother who plays probasketball over in europe
I can not like someone, but still see that they do good things... The fact that I don't like someone, doesn't mean that I disagree with everything they do.
One example, I HATE Osama Bin Laden, but he is an extremely devoted person and I admire his faith in his religion, his business skills, and his ability to rouse the fire of millions of people... u kinda get what i'm saying?
well in this case he didnt look up to steph point blank. it makes no sense for him to look up to him when he can look up to his brother and the other nba pg that he knew and liked
But you still didn't say you look up to Osama....now did you?
admiring something and looking up to something is a different

I know, being 16 I can point out you being wrong.
This conversation is interesting...
Pass the popcorn
if i could be as successful as that man, i'd be very pleased with myself... i'll leave it at that... I look up to him as a role model for his BUSINESS skills/accomplishments, not at all for the things he values in life. I read a book about the guy and it made me respect the man. I do not agree with the awful things he has done, and I do not look up to him in a lot of respects. I most definitely hope the man is dead.
a better example would ve been mark cuban... cuz i really don't like him, but i definitely look up to him... and then i wouldnt have sounded like a terrorist...
Q can u see what im saying at all?
