While reading a post about players in their prime, I thought back to the past few months on the site and thought that using this topic I could express my opinion on a certain subject which relates to all posters.
Regarding people judging when a player is in their "prime". One thing I have noticed while reading posts, is that people make points about comparing two players either current or past when they were in the "prime". I know that once a player has finished his career, his best days can easily be judged. But for current players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Brandon Roy, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Chris Bosh, Derrick Rose, etc... it is not so easy. I understand everybody has different views about how each player will turn out and succeed. But we must realize that regardless of how sure we are of their talent at this point in their careers, we have absolutely no idea how each player will perform in the future, since anything can happen. So when debating on the forums, take a second to realize that although it is fun to discuss your views, remember that your thoughts on the future may be true but can just as equally be incorrect.
Also when posting, I know it can be easy to ridicule people for their posts. And certain people have been complete fools and posting nonsense, but when somebody has a point and they have thought behind it. Look at their opinion with a mature P.O.V and don't respond back in a negative or demeaning manner.
The reason for me posting this is that I have been a member of this site for quite a while, and periodically individuals make themselves a target for people to harass them. To which many people do, and it causes a huge annoyance to all site staff, members and guests. Just understand people are entitled to their own opinions, but also use discretion and some thought when you post. Nobody wishes to read forums of completely irrelevant topics.
Thanks for reading, I just wanted to share my opinion about an aspect of the site.
