Fab Melo to Syracuse

As Iguodala9 will tell you, Fab Melo is a beast on the court. Since he's coming to the Cuse, Jimmy B will use this man as a zone monster on O and D.

Future National Champions 2010-2011? Maybe....

wow, 7"0 and 270lbs. just from his body alone, he has great potential. I really hope he doesn't get injured because he looks like he could be great.

Another Melo to lead Syracuse to the Final 4?

We'll see...their 2010 Class is pretty stacked;

SG Dion Waiters 6'3" 210 lbs is an aggressive 2 guard who can beat you off the dribble, but can also drain shots from the perimeter.

F C.J. Fair 6'7" 185 lbs is a versatile forward who can play both power, and small forwards positions. Had it not been for his torn ACL injury in late 2008 he would've been ranked higher amongst the class of 2010.

C Baye Moussa Keita 6'10" 210 lbs from Oak Hill Academy is still very raw, but he has the wingspan, and is very sound on the defensive end of the floor that he will be able to showcase those skills in the vaunted Syracuse zone defense.

He's 7'0 and 270, but he moves very well, and has a lot of guard like moves, dribbling, passing and has a nice jumper. He looks like a VERY good prospect.

That sounds like Nene but taller but I have yet to see him will check out the video though. Also I think he will leave after his sophmore year. Sophmore are starting to be more popular than freshmen now

comparison/potential

I have been trying to think of what kind of player he could potentially be if he puts in the work and the best I have come up with is a mix between lamarcus aldrige and kevin durant. That's only if he maxes out his potential thou.

Melo

I have not seen a lot on Fab other than those original tapes, which I had watched a few months ago and was impressed with. I do think saying Cuse will win the title in 2011 is a bit presumptious, as we have little to no idea of who is staying in college and who will be on his team to support him, and I do not think Cuse is exactly stacked, though Boeheim gets good players. But, I would be very careful in going crazy over this footage, as it is against guys much smaller than Fab, and while his quickness appears to be decent for a guy his size, he dwarfed everyone else on the court and was sucking wind. Conditioning seems to be an issue with guys of that size and weight, and it looks like Fab will not be an exception. Also, while he seems to have a nice form and all, his offensive game seems quite limited and his post foot work is very raw. I liked how he contested shots and that he showed some nice ups, but I did not like how he hung around the 3 point line without setting very many picks and kind of took himself out of the offense. I know it was a scrimmage, and believe me I think he is an exciting prospect due to his potential, but I would not necessarily call him a great yet. Every top basketball player practicing in an empty gym looks dope, I am sure if people saw guys like Oden, Howard, Aldridge, O'Neal and a bevy of others praciticing by themselves and doing the basic drills Fab was doing in the videos, they would flip out. He needs quite a bit of work on his conditioning and I would like to see him play against better players before making any claims of his future dominance.

conditioning

I noticed that as well. I hope he has a better work ethic than what his conditioning shows cuz he has too much potential to just coast and waste.
