3 things i think about the upcoming season

#1
Chris Paul will be the MVP of the 2009-10 season, and the Hornets will be top 4 in the West with Portland, Lakers and Spurs.
They have added Okafor, who is a great rebounder and defender and a better offensive game than Chandler. He will improve them on offense inside. Along with David West they will have good big men, who could possibly average around 30-35 ppg between the 2. West is a 2 time all star who can average 20 ppg, with a good mid range jumper. Then theres Peja, who with his shooting ability can explode for 30 points in any game. Butler is also a good shooter, and they picked up Marcus Thornton, who should be an upgrade over him, and could eventually start for them. He is another good scorer on this team.
Then of course they have Chris Paul, who is a proven 20 + ppg guy, and a 10 apg guy who can average 2 steals and lock you down on the defensive end. Put these guys together and the CP3 lead team will get 60 + wins and be a top 3 team in the West. This leads to CP3 winning MVP next year.

Next year,
Russell Westbrook > Derrick Rose.
Rose is nice, and a great young player, dont get me wrong about that. But I think Westbrook has a better year. They are 2 simular players, athletic pg's who need better jumpers. But I think Westbrooks position is better because he can pass the ball to Durant/Green/Harden and get tons of assists. We also know he can definetly score aswell. I think he could score 16-18 ppg this season along with around 6-7 assists. Not only that, he can completely lock you down on the defensive end. I think he will have a case for the Most Improved player and will be an all star next year with Durant. Rose is a good player, but I think Westbrook is the better player.

Breakout seasons:
Joe Alexander and Anthony Morrow.
Joe Alexander will get plenty of minutes at the 3 position, and very likely start a lot of games. He is an athletic wing player with solid range and outside game. With minutes on that team, he has a chance to put up some really good numbers on the weak Bucks team.

Anthony Morrow averages 10.1 ppg in his rookie season. Not bad for an undrafted rookie. He also only played in 67 games, and only started 17 of them. He also only played 22 minutes per game. So he averaged 21.4 points per 48 minutes. Pretty good for an undrafted rookie. HE has a great jumper, and If he can get a lot of minutes, or possibly start on the Warriors his ppg average could improve a ton, and he should breakout this year.

They both have cases for Most Improved Player IMO.
Discuss, add anything, or do whatever, I just wanted to share what i thought.

i disagree with Paul being

i disagree with Paul being the mvp. my pick is Wade, Paul will actually havev more support with the arivall of Okafor, and his numbers might go down. Lebrons getting Shaq, Kobes getting Artest. while Wade is still on a team without much help which will mean good stats.

No offense

but I don't agree with any of those.

I think Lebron will win mvp. Everyone else is chasing him. New Orleans will not be better then Denver. Lawson and Afflalo added to the back court with JR Smith starting and Carmelo and Chauncey still leading the way. That team is better then NO. And while I think both Alexander and Morrow will improve, I would'nt single them out among the whole nba for breakout seasons. Morrow is in a crowded perimeter and Alexander is just not a great player. His perimeter shooting and athleticism are both really solid. But he needs work on his ball handling and defense. With less help in Milwaukee now, teams will be able to focus on stopping him more ths year.

I only like number 2. CP3

I only like number 2.

CP3 will have to increase his numbers to be MVP like 25,13,3

Joe Alexander may not get the PT we think, I think Alexander is a jack of all trades, master of none. I dont see him making a impact.

Morrow either unless injury. 20.1 per 48 min is nothing to be happy about if he cannot play D, not the greatest shot selection and lacks a 2nd skill (Passing or Rebounding) He is a poor man's Jamal Crawford on Offense IMO

I agree with the Chris Paul

I agree with the Chris Paul thing if he can get New Orleans 5 seed or better he should get the award since he deserved to get a few times earlier. Kobe will not play enough minutes to take it next year which is fine by him because he will have another ring. Shaq prescene will change how Cavs operate and that may take a load of Lebron and some of his stats. Melo could possibly get it by Denver it too talented for him to over take Paul maybe.

Even if Westbrook stats are better than Rose, Rose is a lot closer to being a true point than Westbrook. Rose also has less to work with but then again he plays in the East but still Westbrook can only overtake Rose if his defense is Rondo like than maybe I have to get him the edge.

Morrow will have a good year but there are only enough opportunities for him to get maybe 6 more points and also Joe Alexander lost a lot of minutes with the signing of Warrick and trade for Weems. Weems is a unknow but as a athletic 3 he could take some minute from Alexander who is not ready in my eyes for big minutes.

you must be a hornets fan

Ok you must be a hornets fan because there is no way they are better then the Nuggets.
Alexander is good but not most improved player, I think it will be Paul Millsap, since he will start this year. Last year when he started he had 19 straight double doubles!!!, was also a close candidate for MIP, this year he will not disappoint and win it. MVP, I think will go to either Lebron or Dwight Howard. You have to be on a winning team in order to win it, so Wade does not get it.

mvp.... generally picked

mvp.... generally picked from one the top teams in the nba, so im thinkin celts, majic, cavs, spurs, lakers.. celts wont get the mvp too old, Dwight is a serious contender here is orlando has the best recod, Lebron is the MVP of the nba every year and has never had this type of help, parker is great very underrated, not mvp, kobe got his, hes dope.. chris paul i personally dont like, tho he is great i cant even say hes the best pg is the L, such a deep position, KD will be MVP before its all said and done aint there yet.. melo is great, very clutch underrated and overrated, and of coarse D wade, with a top 4 east finish hes in there, with a division title hes mvp no doubt.

Nuggest > Hornets

Hornets aren't better than the Nuggets, the Horents bench of Daniels, Posey, Collison, Brown isn't as good as the Nuggets bench of Ty Lawson, Carter, Allen, Affalo, Kleiza, Anderson. Carmello is getting better he proved it in the playoffs so are Nene and J.R. Smith. The Hornets have the edge with Paul and West but Carmello, Nene and JR trump the rest easily.

I agree with Westbrook over Rose
Rose has been overhyped after 1 year and his performance in the playoffs but ppl forget how well Rondo did against him as well.

Who knows with Anthony Morrow they Warrios have 7 guards even after trading Jamal Crawford and Marco Belinelli.
If they could ever trade Maggette and some of those SG's for a legit Center they would have a nice team.

Joe Alexander should do well esp. with a lot of playing time as well.

I agree the Nuggets are better then the Hornets

The Nuggets are better then the Hornets because they went deep into the playoffs this year. They should have beaten the Lakers and went on to the Finals. Remember if it wasn't for Trevor Ariza two steals on the inbound play, the Nuggets would have swept the Lakers and went on to the Finals. Chauncey is a great point guard, and is perfect fit for this team. Melo did prove him self this year. And besides, The Jazz always dominate the Hornets, and the Jazz are not better than the Nuggets, so there is no way the Hornets are better then the Nuggets, they can't even beat the Jazz.
I have never heard that Rose is overhyped, I thought he was pretty good, he did help the Bulls challenge the Celtics to a grueling seven game series. Please explain NYK2010 how Rose is overhyped. This is the first that I have heard about that
