do point guards really win championships?
kong47272, You are wrong my friend, Heat championship squad was:
PG-Jayson Williams/Gary Payton
SG-Wade
SF-Posey
PF-A. Walker/Haslem
C-Shaq
to tell you the truth the small forward postion wins championships the pg,sg,pf and center all have jobs to do the small foward is an exta man on the floor and play a role fills a differnt need on every team the small forward the last 5 years the teams with great sf went to the finals the best player in the league is a small forward who takes on the role of running smallforward, scoring gaurd and ball handler for his team a litte to much but teams with great small forwards win the celtics was in a dog fight with the lakers plus add the facts the refs cheated us out of 1 game they really did just like they cheated the sixers with a playoff berth the game they made them come back out in the play the cavs after they lready beat the cavs in was headed to the locker room but gettin back paul was a huge factor in the celtics winning look at denver also nice team carmello takes them to another height with his talent at the small fowrad postion.......I think if you have a nice small foward to go along with a great team your going to go far
denver
houston even with yao out they gave lakers a run
magic
lakers might have the best pf sf center rotation in the legue
boston
sixers A.I
this is becoming a small forwards game
kevin durant mismatch he will soon be an all star
rudy gay
if you dont have a good sf you wont be able to compete
salmons is really a 2 gaurd that can play 3 postions
but look at what the truth did to him in the playoffs
its a small forwards game if you have a weak small forward teams will go at your small forward
lebron is 1 of the best players in the game and hes a small forward .....the reason for the season best record
and if you doubt my theory hoops daily made an article that breaks down win percentages with differnt type of small forwards small forwards

not since isiah has a dominant, argueably the best in the league at the time, pg has led a team all the way to the promise land. the point guard position is definitly reborn again through drose, cp3, and dwill but they have yet to do what the ones before them havent. nash, kidd, payton, stockton, iverson(part time), marbury, davis, all have been to all star games but none have any "hardware". they were all great at one ponit or another and at there best made finals appearences but have not gotten over the hup. while other ,lesser praised, pgs such as derek fisher, tony parker, chauncey billups and a few others have(of course with a great deal of help). the only two that make a decent case for carring there team are parker and billups who each managed to snag finals mvp for there perfomances and have mutiple apperances between them.
