Another player that was

Another player that was signed because he played good in the Olympics. Shows how far that'll get ya. He isnt an NBA player, he's too weak and he has no position (he's no PG, its just the position he's best at.

Potential

I think he played ok in the Olympics. He was never an amazing player, but he was interesting because he was 6'9 and could handle the ball some. Realistically he's probably a lot like Yi, but not as good or athletic. I think the Lakers picked him up more for that potential, but there is no longer room to let him just hang out on the bench.

By the way, there are a few cases of guys playing well in the Olympics and then playing well in the NBA. Louis Scola, Rudy Fernandez, Ginobli, Gasol, Calderon are all examples of guys that played well in both settings.

Those guys were established

Those guys were established before they played in the Olympics, they played good in the Olympics after they were already in the NBA.
