The eighties were filled with so many great basketball players so picking the top 12 was tough. In order for players to be eligible for my list they had to be drafted in the 1984 draft or earlier. So here is my list:
PG Magic Johnson
SG Michael Jordan
SF Larry Bird
PF Moses Malone
C Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
PG Isiah Thomas
C Hakeem Olajuwon
SF Julius Earving
PF Charles Barkley
SF Alex English
SF Dominique Wilkins
C Robert Parrish
Honorable Mention: Clyde Drexler, James Worthy, Bernard King, Bill Laimbeer, George Gervin, Kevin McHale, Mark Aguirre, John Stockton, Adrian Dantley.
Some of the players listed in the honorable mention where good in the eighties but did most of their damage in other decades(Gervin-70's, Stockton and Drexler-90's) so they aren't on the first team because of that. So what do you guys think and did I forget anybody?
also honorable mention = Buck Williams
Since you aren't letting Stockton in since he was more of a 90's figure I'd replace Barkley with McHale
about putting McHale ahead of Barkley but during the last half of the decade Barkley was putting up some monster numbers with the Sixers. McHale did win a couple of championships and had a great career in the eighties but Barkley was the better individual player at the time.
joe dumars was key for two championships, being u already have a back up 5 in hakeem i might would put sombody else in over parrish maybe mchale
never mind joe was in the 85 draft my fault
