DWADE

I have a question... is it ridiculous to think that Dwyane Wade is as good or better than both LBJ and Kobe?

the biggest advantages that LBJ and Kobe have over DWade

-Kobe has more championships

I'd definitely argue that if you put DWade on any of those 4 squads, the Lakers would have won all 4 times as well. Kobe won 3 of those with Shaq when Shaq was his MOST dominant self. When DWade won with Shaq (and not much else) Shaq was older and already into his decline. As far as this past year, there's no doubt in my mind that DWade would have won with Pau, Lamar, etc. Kobe has also played a lot longer than DWade

-LBJ is unstoppable because of his sheer size once he gets going downhill

Has anyone ever seen someone keep Wade out of the paint? Wade might not have the size but he's one of the shiftiest/quickest guys in the league when attacking the basket. I think he's one of the best I've ever seen at quickly changing directions to avoid the defender. Often times in doing that he avoids the charge but still gets the foul on the defender and I think he finishes after contact as well, if not better, than any other player. He gets And-1s like crazy (which is like a 3 pointer...I don't think and-1s get enough recognition. is there a place where they keep that stat?)

Other factors to consider:

Is there a more clutch player than Wade? I feel like during the last minute of the game he's awesome, especially at getting to the line.

LBJ has never won a title.

30 PPG, consistently averages ~10 fts/gm, 49% FG, 75%F, 7APG, 5 RPG, 2 SPG, 1 BPG... does all that even though he is the only true real threat on his team. That group of guys would've been hands down the worst team without Wade.

More factors

Kobe is a much better shooter.
D-Wade is very injury prone.
D-Wade turns the ball over at a higher rate.
LeBron is a better rebounder.
D-Wade's team was worse this season.

But I don't think there are many people who would argue Dwyane Wade isn't top 3 in the NBA. I think he should have won MVP last season, he really carried that team on offense and defense.

Wade is in consideration but

Wade is in consideration but you can not put him above those players. They are better and not only because their team success but also because the are very talented and skilled players. Also Kobe has only missed the playoffs once in his career playing in the West and if he played in the East. Kobe might have more rings.

Duh Wade's team was worst cause he doesn't have a good supporting cast. LeBron gets beat by him if you look at the stats. Kobe always has had a good supporting cast with Shaq, Fox, Gasol, & even Odom. I understand Wade's going to get beat in rebounding because of his size. Sure rebounding matters, but does it make that player better? Also, I have to say Wade is the best clutch player in the game today. Only because he can run the point also. Otherwise, Kobe would get it all. I've already made my point on here before that some player was better than another, but I'm not going to do it again just to get criticized and berated over stats not only of one season, but the hole career. Also, I know Wade isn't the best today, but he's up there. One of my last points is Wade played in college. Whereas, Kobe & LeBron didn't. So it gives him more experience aand probably learned more plays. Does it make Wade better? No. Does it make Wade an elite player? Yes. Wade has been injury prone, I'll agree with that, but he bounced back after both of those injuries. He's led the USA olympic basketball team to a championship. Not many players at all can say that. I understand that some think LeBron and others are better, but I have to disagree. Wade is currently to me IMO the 2nd best player in the NBA. Have to give props to Kobe though, Kobe is the real best.

I meant to say factors why LeBron and Kobe get more credit than D-Wade. D-Wade would be getting more attention if the rest of his team was better. LeBron's rebounding numbers just pop out more.

I wanted Wade to win MVP last season.

also something else i've

also something else i've been thinking about a lot... to a certain extent every player has a 'hype factor' to why they are considered THE BEST... inherent in everyone's perception of players is the effect of hearing everyone say that so-and-so is very good. does that make sense?

like, to me, it's clear that LBJ and Kobe have two of the biggest hype factors in the game... the NBA puts them in those commercials pitting the two GREATEST players in the against each other, and that definitely has an effect/influence on how we all view these players.

All I'm trying to say is that i think wade has less hype factor than those guys...

Yeah

He does not have as much hype. I still would give the edge to those two players, but Wade played better in his finals MVP year than Kobe played in any of the finals he won. I also like the way Wade blocks shots from the guard position. He is the best shot blocking guard in the NBA. The numbers also support that.

Wade

Xbadgerhustler...first I want to commend you for thinking outside of the box. I think Wade was the best player of the 3 last year. The guy does a lot and does so with very little help. I agree that if it was Wade and Shaq all of those years, that they would have never lost. I would also say if you replaced Wade or Lebron with the Laker's team that just played the Celtics, that the Lakers would have won.

It is a valid point that Wade isn't much of a shooter, but he is so good at getting the basket, finishing and drawing contact that it doesn't matter. He is probably a better shooter than what we see. He's probably thinking why in the world would I settle for a 20 foot shot when you can't stop me from getting to the basket? I'm just hoping he can start making more jump shots so he can prolong his career. I know I'm taking Wade if it's for the last shot of the game. There is a good chance that he hits the shot or gets contact.

Even though the Heat didn't have a great record, I believe Wade should have been MVP. He had a rookie pg, the remains of jermaine o'neal and not much else. As for his career, he has been great so far. He carried an inferior team to the finals and destroyed the Mavs with an amazing performance. Obviously the Shaq trade worked, but I really would have liked to see what would have happened if they had kept Odom, Alston, Caron Butler and any other pick that they probably gave up for Shaq. Long term that team may have had at least two titles in them if they kept building it right.

1. Kobe 2. Lebron 3.

1. Kobe
2. Lebron
3. D-Wade

everyone else is on the outside looking in, D-Wade deserved MVP last season but Lebron's team finished first and farther although it was impressive that the Heat even made the playoffs I still say it was right giving it to Lebron. The one thing I love about D-Wade the most is when he goes up against the best in the league he's never had an off night, he shines in EVERY big game

Knicksboy, that Heat team

Knicksboy, that Heat team was not good... You look at Payton, Walker and Shaq and you see 3 guys who were very VERY good players in their prime, but who were not great when they won the championship. J Will was also on the decline. Posey was a good guy.

I was a HUGE Mavs fan that year and he really demoralized that team and all their fans that year. yea, he might have gotten some calls, but that's more a product of how good he is at changing directions... it's almost impossible to guard that guy without fouling (same goes for LBJ)

doubledribbler, i just saw that steal-running 3 on TV somewhere recently and that's kind of what sparked my thinking about Dwyane. That was one of the most cold-blooded shots I've ever seen. That's up there with the Roy turn-around over the Rockets, Rashard Lewis a couple times in the playoffs and Ben Gordon vs. Allen.... i get goosebumps when I see that kind of clutch play.

I'd also say Wade might be the best leader of all those 3. He has a certain composure that is contagious on the court. I've never seen him snap on teammates like Kobe. And I've never seen him buy into the hype like LBJ does... lol, do u remember all those 'pictures' LBJ was taking before games... stop buying into how AWESOME u are, LeBron.

That team was good. Not

That team was good. Not great but good.

I'd also say Wade might be the best leader of all those 3. I disagree. I think if Shaq was not on the Heat team, they would have not made that Finals that year.

Also, you talk about cold-blooded just watch Game 5 Cleveland vs Pistons when LBJ killed everyone

Kobe is a WAY better leader then Wade.

i would never want to play

i would never want to play on kobe's team

That's Bias thus you would pick Wade over Him. Alot of people dont like Kobe because he is the best in the game. People remember the selfish Kobe who wanted to leave. He is past all of that, He pretty much help Ariza get big money in Houston and he is the second coach on that team. He will tell you when to step in line. Kobe is unselfish now and he is gonna start passing more. Plus more ppl wanna play with Kobe because he know how to win a Championship and can teach them to run the Triangle

Why do you think Artest went there instead of MIA? Kobe is the man.

Why is Wade a better leader...

I will say that I can

I will say that I can respect Kobe for his work ethic, and I think that he sets a very good example for his teammates by putting in so much time and detail into his game (although u didn't mention that)

Like I said, I think that Wade's composure is a great leadership quality. He keeps his teammates calm and in the game. I also think that Wade sets a good example by how much effort he puts in on the court... I don't know if I've ever seen Wade play when his jersey doesn't look about 5 shades darker than everyone of his teammates.

Kobe will just scowl at his teammates sometimes, and to me, that's not anyway to lead. Give feedback, but there's a way to do it and be supportive, not just by looking at someone in disgust. I'm not saying that Kobe is a bad leader, just that I think Wade is better.

and, no, just because I would much rather play with Wade than Kobe, does not make me biased... I'm not sure how you came up with that.

Kobe has 4 rings...I much rather listen to him. Also, he doesn't scream at them alot anymore...Like I said before that's OLD KOBE.

Also, How is Wade a good leader if Beasley wont listen to him?

i still see the scowl, and i

i still see the scowl, and i still think he's condescending. you can disagree.

first of all, where are u coming from with the Beasley-doesn't-listen-to-him... I haven't heard anything about that, but it could very well be true. a good leader doesn't need to force other people to do anything, IMO. If Beasley doesn't listen to Wade that says more about Beasley then it does about Wade. You can't make someone listen.

1-Kobe 2-Lebron 3-Wade Wade

1-Kobe
2-Lebron
3-Wade

Wade is the worst perimter shooter of the 3. He forces more plays into the paint which leads to getting to the free throw line, but also into turnovers and bad shots. Wade was nothing special in the first round aginst the Hawks, the same Hawks that Lebron's team swept with ease. People can say how Kobe has had so much help all they want, but plain and simple, he has been to the Finals 6 times and is still 30 years old.

Haha I was watching that overtime game, and before the play started, the commentators said that Wade is gonna put some magic. Just like the rest of the season. Last seasonl, he deserved the MVP.

Don't let the height fool

Don't let the height fool you, Wade is a closer to Lebron's size than you think. In their pre-draft measurements, Bron came in at 6'8" with a 7 foot wingspan, and Wade at about 6'4" with a 6'11 wingspan. Of course there's still about a 40 pound weight difference...
