Why John Wall doesn't make it.

For one after following this kid for a couple years now, he has shown no effort into improving his jump shot. Taking the approach i am dominating why do i need to work on my game.

Second it will be extremely easy for people to guard him if he can't even make a college level three pointer which he has shown he can't do to save his life. Don't talk about his speed all you have to do is take 3 steps back and you can guard him.

Third No effort to improve himself shows why he will never be a dominate all-star...Look at Kobe, Lebron, Dwight. Do you see any changes in his game from his 10th to 12th year. This is when kids are suppose to explode. But no there was no jumpshot added. No go to move besides run extremely fast.

Prove me wrong with evidence, not just your opinion.

Here is some evidence.

Why is Chewbacca playing with C3PO? What are they playing? Does he really think he can win? No, it doesn't make any sense. IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!!!!

I agree

I say the same thing to everyone John Wall is a great player he deserve to be a number one pick but he has no jumpshot and his handles are kind of shaky and in a slow tempo game he is very turnover prone. Im a john wall Believer though I know he got a bright future though he needs alot of improvement.

I agree. with you to a

I agree. with you to a point.

In My opinion ( which is also a statement), he has no go to move and he is lacking the jumpshot he will need. He will need to work on his turnovers and playing in a slow tempo. He will need that because not every team run and guns and Coaches rarely change thier coaching style for 1 player.

work ethic is definitely one

work ethic is definitely one of the biggest factors in whether or not a player does well... in the nba you can't just get by on your gifts, unless your LBJ. why doesn't LBJ have a post game. why

LeBron James got big after

LeBron James got big after his 3rd season. Before then, He look like MJ, he was lean. He never had to develop a post up game because he didnt have to.

OK

"He's not a great shooter, but is good enough to keep the defense honest. He also showed range with all his 3-point attempts being from off the catch. His shooting form is not bad, but he has an inconsistent release and he does not put his hand toward the rim on his follow through. That problem can be corrected by shooting a high number of quality shots on a daily basis."
That's from espn.

NBADraft.net gave him a 7 for shooting.

"His jumper is still a work in progress, but it is good enough to keep the defense honest."
That's from Rivals.

"Wall’s shooting mechanics look a lot better than we remember them, as he no longer seems to flail his elbow out. He needs to do a better job getting his legs underneath the ball and add some more arc to his jumper, as well as making sure he releases it consistently every time—but watching him play, you don’t feel like his shot is broke, even if he obviously has a lot of room to improve."
That's from draftexpress.

"Considering that this is the first time we’ve seen Wall play live since last July, we noticed a number of substantial improvements. For one, his ball-handling skills look crisper than they did over the summer, as he went left or right with his typical explosiveness, but also looked very much under control. His court vision appears to have improved substantially—his teammates looked surprised on a number of occasions by the passes he was able to deliver right into their hands-- and he did a much better job running the pick and roll as well."
Also from Draftexpress

Why should we take you seriously when everybody else seems to discredit your, ahem, "evidence"?

Talking out yall A$$

Trust me, John Wall will never have trouble getting to the rim. Its like Rajon Rondo, you know he wont shoot, but you cant stop him becuase of his length, athleticism and quickness. So even though you know whats coming, you cant stop it, just hope to contain it. Why use a go-to move when your faster than everyone? If anything, his lack of a "go-to move" will make him very unpredictable. How can you say he's taking the approach of not working on his jumper? Yes he has. His jumper isnt good, but he has steadily improved it. Saying things like he hasnt tried to improve shows that you havent watched him play, because he clearly is a better shooter than he was in his JR. yR.

And whoever said his handle is shaky, no its not. Im not even gonna waste my time talking about his handle.

How can you say he isnt going to work to get better? Like you know him or something. Ha. This man is going to play for John Calipari, so I can guarantee he is going to work hard to improve. John Wall will be successful. He is too gifted to not make it at all, he will work hard enough to get himself better.

I think all in all, we need

I think all in all, we need to wait.

I'm not calling him a bust because I believe he will be good. I dont know about All-NBA and that stuff but good.

Im not calling him a future superstar because I have seen guys who got hurt, got in trobule with the law etc. None of us know John Wall that well.

But In My Opinion, from What I seen, I believe that John Wall wont be as good then Derrick Rose, Brandon Jennings and Rajon Rondo.

I also like Brandon Knight more then John Wall

That's it.

Wall

Should focus on his mid range game right now. Work on hitting the mid range jumper for starters. Coach Cal will help him do that. He should not worry about the three for now. Wade did not shoot the three much in college or even now. Wade takes it on occasion. If Wall can improve his mid range J he will be just fine. Gradually work his way into being a decent percentage 3 point shooter who does not take them too often. All he needs is a good mid range J or a pull up bank shot offf the glass to go to often. He will be a good pro time will tell if he becomes a superstar

^Exactly

Thank you. Yall act like not being a good shooter is a death sentence to be a successful collegiate/pro player. So many bad shooters have been successful. Usually they have an athletic advantage, and John Wall has every athletic advantage in the book.

no one said he will need a

no one said he will need a jumper in college, he will need one in the NBA.

I say it all the time- Rajon Rondo is a jumper away from being the best PG in the East.

I think all in all, we need to wait.

Ok

But you would agree Rondo has "made it" in the NBA right? Without a go-to move and a jumper, right?

isint that like the under 18 games??? If your gonna say that him getting beat by Brandon Jennings to the point that he scored 6 points dont matter. when he dominates in a game...to me it wont matter.

If

Rondo did not play with those guys he would score more. He would not be as successful in terms of wins and losses, but I'm sure he would shoot a lot more and attack more. Doc actually likes when he is more aggressive, but he is a pass 1st point guard when he has weapons.

More Aggressive in the system...when he plays out of Doc's system, he doesn't like it and that why they wanted to trade him.

WHO CARES ABOUT HIM GETTING

WHO CARES ABOUT HIM GETTING BEAT HEAD-TO HEAD 1 TIME VS. JENNINGS?! Most prospects have been beaten head-to-head, and the outplayed man is more successful currently: I'll name a few

Earl Clark v. Brian Zoubek: Brian Zoubek outplayed Earl in the state championship in HS and even blew out Clark's team, but Zoubek is a horrible player at Duke, while Earl Clark was a lotto pick in 2009.

Randolph Morris v. Dwight Howard: Dwight Howards' HS lost the battle of the bigs and Randolph Morris was about 30pts and 20 rebs, while Howard had around 20 and 10. Morris is one of the worst players in the NBA, while Howard is the best center in the game

Julius Hodge v. Chris Paul: This was the infamous "nut cracking" game. Julius Hodge had a great game, and outplayed Paul. I believe NC State won the ACC Championship that year by beating Wake. Hodge now plays overseas, but Chris Paul is arguably the best PG in basketball.

Just a few I thought of at the top of my head.

But 2 of those 3.....They

But 2 of those 3.....They did not guard each other the whole game. Like I said,

Wall vs Jennings was PG vs PG.....that should matter

Clark vs Zoubek was PF vs C

Morris vs Howard was C vs C....that at the time would matter

Hodge vs Paul was PG vs SG

Come on now....

Thought about trading based on the contract dispute. He plays the system just fine. Rondo wants serious paper.

Not exactly

Julius Hodge was a PG his Sr. year at NC State. And you have to remember Zoubek was about 220 when he was a senior in high school and so was Clark, and both were Centers in their prep careers. Wasnt a huge advantage except the 3/4 inch height difference.

No he wasnt. Thats not true. Bill Simmons and Chad Ford was talking about it on his podcast during the draft about it. Doc did not like how he ran the offense at times. He would often freestyle in the system.

Julius Hodge was a PG his Sr. year at NC State- I need proof because I remember him playing SG in the tourney.

I'm gonna post this again:

I think all in all, we need to wait.

I live in Boston

I watch every game read everything printed in the city on the C's. The contract situation is what brought any talk of him being traded. I would not take the word of someone outside of it. Danny and doc have both said in our papers they like the way he runs the team. They have won a title and made it further last year than they should have based on how he runs the team

They also lied when they said that they were not shopping Rondo. Sorry Dude, I trust Bill Simmons who loves the Celtics and can get more info then Boston Sportswriters.

I called doc a coc. I don't agree. Who is going to run their system to a title like Rondo did. I have already heard he want that Chris Paul type Dough so it is what it is. They can win a title with dude and how he plays. They don't want to brake the bank for him. He comes back with a Jumpshot they will.

Wall

He is still in the AAU mold a.k.a. 1 on 5 b-ball. He plays in a free for all system where he has a green light. That will change when he plays for Coach Cal.
