John Wall
Derrick Rose 2.0
Derrick Rose has more pg skills, he is developed beyond his years. He is a tad more unselfish and is way more of a winner. His jump shot is better and has way better shooting mechanics. Wall is more committed to defense and is even quicker and more athletic then Rose. Wall is also a bit taller but Rose is more muscular and draws contact better. Both are fantastic finishers.
Derrick Rose 2.0?
Slow down, Let him play a college game. Plus John Wall wont be "Derrick Rose" good. I saw him play 15 games. He will have trouble defending bigger PG's and he is 6-1. He got killed by Brandon Jennings on 2 separate occasions...
ok so far we got MagicKnick who says Wall will be a D-Rose 2.0 and Knicksboy my good friend who says Wall wont even be that good ( sorry......... but i kinda think thats a stretch )
I didn't call him Rose 2.0, I gave a comparison on the 2 of them.
not you yup-yup
I didn't say Wall will be terrible. I say Wall will have a issue guarding bigger PG's. I saw the man play 15 games. He plays well on O but a little weak on D. I think he will be a great PG in the NBA but not a Superstar...
We all need to slow down...You guys are pointing out qualities that Rose didnt have coming out of HS either, Rose has 1 season experience under Calipari already, and 1 NBA season
Obviously John Wall isnt finished developing(neither is rose), he'll get bigger, he'll be able to shoot better, he'll develop his PG skills along the way also..
If you compared Roses' skills coming out of HS to Walls right now, you'd be watching twins, imo
After Walls lone college season, you'll all see as he develops how much alike they really are..
2¢
It's just going against the common belief. That is why people are taking it awya, you know people on here are very irresponsible with their point giving.
I can pretty much guarantee John Wall will be an elite PG in the NBA. Derrick Rose was 6'1" at the NBA combine w/o shoes, and so is John Wall. But they are both 6'3 with shoes on and last I checked you play basketball with shoes.
thats why i made this post !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can garuntee he will be a franchise PG in the NBA too , i wanna make people eat their words though when it does happen
Naw, you said he will get eaten up by bigger guards. He is a big guard, and your arguement was he was 6'1, and so I thought that because he's 6'1" you thought he would struggle guarding big players. When his playing size is 6'3
You can't just predict high school talent as future stars.......marcus liberty, Johathan bender, deshawn stevenson, Gerald green, kwame brown, alll expected to be greats, and compared to greats, have done nothing big in the nba......And your saying a guy that hasn't played a nccaa game a great player......im not saying he bad....he pretty good from what i've seen but do we know that will show in the pros
No, I said he WAS getting eaten up by PG's now. I saw a couple of games against good talent where against some players and some PG's where he was getting bullied...I think he will struggle a bit.
Even Derrick Rose has some weaknesses in his game.
Also, there is a big difference between 08 Memphis and 09 Kentucky
Wall will not be the main guy on UK. Patrick Patterson will. With 3 legit big men inside, Coach Cal will ask Wall to be more off a slasher/distributor then just a flat out do everything player like Rose was at Memphis
My prediction for Wall: 11-15 ppg 3-5 rpg 4-6 apg. That is what I expect him to do on that loaded Kentucky team.
come on now man....poor man versions. these guys can create there own shots....3 1st round talents to a 2 2nd round picks and a undrafted player....those guys are these guys' worst.
All in all, we need to wait on these HS kids before calling them superstars at the NBA. Guys like Robert Swift, Edbui Ebi, Shannon Brown etc were top rated Prospects and were being talked about the same way you guys talk about Wall.
To me, sometimes their are prospects you just know will succeed. I think Wall is one of them. I thought Rose, LeBron, Dwight and OJ were too. I haven't been wrong on a hs prospect yet haha! Wall is next in line for me.
I REPEAT
All in all, we need to wait on these HS kids before calling them superstars at the NBA. Guys like Robert Swift, Edbui Ebi, Shannon Brown etc were top rated Prospects and were being talked about the same way you guys talk about Wall.
I never talked about Robert Swift that way, as a matter of fact I always wondered why he was highly rated. He is very weak and goofy and has always been since I saw him in the Mickey D's game. I did like Shannon Brown in HS, but he wasnt hyped like John Wall and I never thought he would be an elite player in the NBA. I did think he was going to start with some team though, and he may with LA if Phil Jackson realizes he is better than Fisher and Farmar. And Ebi was raw, and too weak to play NBA. None of those players were nearly as hyped as Wall though.
I rarely think this highly of a prospect, I said he would succeed, not win MVP. I never thought any of those guys were good either. Like I said I'm perfect so far so until I am not, i will take my own word for it that he is going to be good.
Like I have been saying I said he will succeed not win MVP. I don't believe I am getting ahead of myself by saying that.
LeBron and Mayo weren't as hyped as Wall??? You're kidding right? Unless you are talking about Swift and the other busts.
Knicksboy it gets confusing when you don't label who you are talking too.
You think Shannon Brown, Robert Swift and Nbudi Ebi were as hyped as John Wall??? I doubt that....
Ummm..Why do you think people wanted them? Why do you think they were ranked high in HS...People thought they would be great.
Wall is much more hyped than Ebi. Theres a reason he is projected to go #1. Ebi never got that respect. He was a long athletic player that got taken on potential. Wall is in a different boat. I dont know official measurements but he looks taller than Rose. He moves like Rose but finishes like Wade. Cant get a much better combination than that.
They were like the top 15 prospects in there class. Remember, the class were Dwight Howard, Shaun Livingston, and Sebastian Telfair among others were drafted higher than them in the 03 and 04 class? Swift was the only one out of those 3 who was taken in the lotto I believe. John Wall s much higher ranked, and he gets more pub than all 3 of them when they were prospects.

just wanna hear some early opinions in how good Wall will be in Kentucky and in the NBA. so we can look at this in the future and see who was right, ill give mine in a few
