If you haven’t already heard about Miami Beach center Zach Brown, you may want to take notice. The 7-1 sophomore had 40 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocks in an 80-38 exhibition defeat of Archbishop Curley Notre Dame (Miami) on Nov. 10, then followed that with 15 points, 26 rebounds and 11 blocks in a 66-27 defeat of Hialeah (Fla.) on Tuesday.

Brown was voted a second-team all-state player last season as a freshman while averaging 18.4 points, 16.5 rebounds and 6.9 blocks and recording seven triple-doubles.

Brown’s efforts lead the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Performances of the Week.

The junior, running her first race ever in the snow, finished in 18 minutes and 55 seconds to defeat Allie Ostrander of Kenai Central (Kenai, Alaska) by four seconds to win the Nike Cross Northwest Regional Championship last Saturday in Boise, Idaho.

Senior running back ran for 345 yards and seven touchdowns in a 69-23 defeat of two-time defending state champion Maryville on Friday.
