Five Kentucky recruits are among the 24 boys' high school basketball players selected Thursday to this year's McDonald's All American Game.
The 36th annual McDonald's boys' game will be played April 3 in Chicago and televised live at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Chicago native Jabari Parker, the No. 2 overall prospect in the ESPN 100, will represent the host city in the game for the West and be matched up against No. 1 prospect Andrew Wiggins for the East.
The five Kentucky recruits named McDonald's All Americans -- a record for any one school -- are point guard Andrew Harrison, shooting guard Aaron Harrison, small forward James Young, power forward Marcus Lee and center Dakari Johnson.
The Harrison twins, Young and Lee, will suit up for the West, while Johnson will be the lone UK recruit on the East.
Other colleges that landed multiple recruits in the game were Florida with point guard Kasey Hill and power forward Chris Walker; Duke with small forward Parker and shooting guard Matt Jones; and North Carolina with power forward Isaiah Hicks and center Kennedy Meeks.
The Tar Heels still lead the way all time in McDonald's All American selections, with Hicks and Meeks making 62 UNC recruits in the history of the game. Duke is second with 52 and Kentucky's 40 ranks third.
The complete roster for the East team consists of Hicks, Hill, Johnson, Meeks, Walker, the undecided Wiggins, Anthony Barber (NC State), Keith Frazier (undecided), Demetrius Jackson (Notre Dame), Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (Arizona), Wayne Selden (Kansas) and Noah Vonleh (Indiana).
The West team is comprised of the Harrison twins, Jones, Lee, Parker, Young, Jabari Bird (California), Aaron Gordon (undecided), Isaac Hamilton (UTEP), Jarrell Martin (LSU), Bobby Portis (Arkansas) and Nigel Williams-Goss (Washington).
The state of Texas, with the Harrison twins, Jones and Frazier, and California, with Bird, Gordon, Hamilton and Lee, tied for the most McDonald's All Americans this year with four each.
Nine of the top 10 prospects in the ESPN 100 were named to the game. No. 3 recruit Julius Randle of Dallas has been sidelined almost the entire high school season with a fractured foot and was not selected.
