Head coach: Al Huss
La Lumiere is an independent school and does not compete for a state title in Indiana. While much was made over the summer about incoming transfers like
Jalen Coleman,
Jo Jo Anderson and
Joseph Toye, Huss believes senior returner
Sam Logwood will be key for the Lakers.
2. Indianapolis Arsenal Technical2012-13 record: 22-5
Head coach: Jason Delaney
Recent Kentucky commit
Trey Lyles is one of the top senior post players in the country. Lyles has help in 6-8
Rashaun Richardson and 6-3
Jermie Tyler – both Ball State commitments. This team will be on the radar for national rankings.
3. Greensburg2012-13 record: 27-1, Class 3A state champions
Head coach: Stacy Meyer
The trio of
Bryant McIntosh,
Sean Sellers and
Ryan Welage overwhelmed Indiana's 3A classification a year ago. Eight players are back for a team that outscored opponents by an average margin of 24 points per game last winter.
4. Carmel2012-13 record: 26-2, Class 4A state champions
Head coach: Scott Heady
Heady went 10-13 in his first season at Carmel in 2010-11. But things turned around in a hurry at Carmel, where the Greyhounds have gone 50-6 with back-to-back 4A state titles over the past two seasons. All-State guard Michael Volovic is gone but starpower hasn't been the program's calling card during Heady's tenure.
5. Park Tudor (Indianapolis)2012-13 record: 21-3
Head coach: Ed Schilling
Xavier commit
Trevon Bluiett is back after averaging 25 points per game and earning Associate Press first team All-State honors as a junior.
Troy Spears (6-3, Sr., G/F),
Dwayne Gibson (6-3, Jr., G) and
Joey Brunk (6-8, So., F) are other key contributors back in the fold.
