Top 5 big man recruit Ira Lee has shoulder surgery, out 2-3 months

Ira Lee, ranked as the No. 5 big man in the Class of 2017 by the 247Sports Composite, is expected to miss 2-3 months after shoulder surgery, he told USA TODAY High School Sports.

The 6-7 Lee from Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.) was injured last month during the Fab 48 event in Las Vegas.

“It could have been worse, but I’ll be fine,” Lee said.

Lee, ranked as the No. 7 player in California and No. 53 overall, is down to five schools and has scheduled officials visits with three of the five. He will visit Texas on Sept. 30, Oregon on Oct. 7 and Arizona on Oct. 14. He has yet to schedule visits to California and Maryland.

He indicated a quick decision is likely once he finishes his visits.

Lee spent part of last season at Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) before transferring to Prolific Prep.
