Charlie Moore, the No. 1 recruit in the state of Illinois according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, announced that he would attend Memphis.

Moore, from Morgan Park High in Chicago, visited Memphis last month and also visited Cal. VCU also was a finalist.

Moore, a four-star recruit by virtually all the recruiting services, said he thought Memphis provided a greater opportunity to play immediately.

Memphis already has a commitment from College of Southern Idaho shooting guard Ar’Mond Davis in the Class of 2016.
