VIDEO: Georgetown commit Tremont Waters has some Steph Curry range

Connecticut native and Georgetown basketball signee Tremont Waters is a four-star shooting guard, with a heavy emphasis on shooting. At 5-foot-11, he’s never going to be confused for the kind of guard who can cut into the paint and bang in the post, but as Steph Curry has proven, that doesn’t matter if you can shoot well enough.

Let’s just say that Waters can definitely shoot well enough.

That’s Waters in the meme-able highlight reel above, showcasing Waters outside of his team’s daily practice. Those are deep, deep, deep treys, from just inside the half court. And those are at least six straight buckets from just inside half court. The way they were dropping, it looked as if Waters could have drained a number more, as well.

Whether Waters, who is playing his senior season at Notre Dame of West Haven, brings the same success to Washington, D.C. remains to be seen. For now, Georgetown coach John Thompson III will simply be thrilled to see that his next big scoring threat is already in the gym, hoisting up shots after shots from all kinds of Steph Curry distances.
