Your Final Four
If Georgetown gets to the Final Four, I will paypal you $10,000.
-Below-average at the point
-Well-below average in the post (120th in rebounding rate, 195th in offensive rebounding%, and their best post player averages a measly 7 and 5.5).
-Below-average offense (136th in offensive efficiency)
Besides Otto Porter and their great defense they have too many red flags that will prevent them from going far.
This was especially tough for me as a Tar Heel fan but I have Duke winning it all. Other teams in the Final Four are Indiana, Michigan and New Mexico.
Had a hard time choosing between Duke and MSU but thought that Duke will have little bit more eagerness to win as it is the last chance for their seniors like Curry or Plumlee. Michigan was also a tough choice but I'm big fan of Trey Burke, I think he will have terrific tournament and hopefully their shooters will catch fire.
Indiana and New Mexico were somehow easy choices for me but when tournament time comes, you can only scratch your head sometimes...
I have never even come close to winning any of these, and I am old. So new approach for this year. I picked the first round based on my personal picks. From that point on, I flipped a coin with Heads meaning the favored team moves on and tails, the underdog advances. At the end, when it comes between two team with the same ranking, I simply assigned heads or tails to the teams and best of 5 moves on.
Having said that, I have St. Louis, Michigan, Syacuse and Gonzaga in the final four with Michigan winning it all against St. Louis.
My picks are Louisville, New Mexico, Indiana, and Michigan. Michigan makes me a little uneasy though and I'll admit I'm super bias picking UNM because I'm from Albuquerque, but looking at your guys' picks it seems like a consensus choice :)
Michigan State: Their guards will outplay Duke's and their big's are too much for Louisville to handle
New Mexico: Their defense will shut down OSU's weak offense, their guards are too quick for Gonzaga to handle
VCU: Michigan too inexperienced to handle their press, Kansas has no PG to handle their press, Florida too inconsistent
Miami: easiest bracket IMO, only challenge is Indiana whose guards are to small to handle Scott/Larkin
^So does Indiana
I have Louisville-Ohio St. Georgetown-Indiana with Indiana winning over Louisville. I really wanted to pick VCU to go to the Final 4 or Michigan St. but I always have a hard time going against a top seed that everytime I've watched them, they dominate. And I noticed a lot of people have New Mexico in it
What is everyone's final four? Personally, I've changed mine 5 or 6 times now, but I think I've finally settled for a four I like. Duke, New Mexico, Michigan, and Miami. Like my picks or not it doesn't matter. I want to know what everyone else's final four is.
