Dream matchup, both players are in their primes, 7 game series, let’s say both superstars have the same amount of talent level around them and the same dependence upon them. Name yours & who would outperform who

Allen Iverson vs. Stephem Curry – Heavyweight matchup of two of the most scoring guards in NBA history. I still think Iverson would outperform Curry. 2001 Iverson would tear any defense apart, I just personally think he is every bit the scorer Curry is.

    Name your dream matchup

has Ever seen….. how about Dr. J vs Jordan in their prime….. I don;t think people understand how Dominant Julius Erving truly was in his prime….. which unfortunately was spent mostly in the ABA….. Dr. J was a 30+ points a night scorer but he also pulled down 10+ rebounds & 5 assists….

Dr. J was Big too – he was 6’7” & long…. & he was maybe the freakiest athlete we’ve ever seen….

Another great match up that we were robbed of as fans…. Penny Hardaway & Larry Johnson were absolute Super Stars who were Robbed of their athletic gifts early in their careers…. Both L.J. & Penny also were paired w/ Dominant Centers on expansion teams in Alonzo Mourning & Shaquille O’Neal…….

Go back & look at the stats…. or listem to old pros talk abhout these guys….. but Charlotte vs Orlando should have been an updated version of Phila vs Boston or Chicago vs Detroit Wars for the Conferenance Finals….

Larry Johnson & Alonzo Mourning vs Shaq O’Neal & Penny Hardaway are the stuff by which Legends are made….. I remember when this played out in the Draft I could not contain my excitement….. As a fan we were robbed of what would have been history making rivalries…………….

      Dr. J vs Jordan

Shaq / Penny vs Larry Johnson / Alonzo Mourning

Wilt Chamberlain vs. Shaquille O’Neal: Arguably the two most physically talented big men in history. When they were at their peaks, they could do things that seemed impossible for someone their size. I’m not entirely sure who I’d pick in this scenario. If I had to choose though, I’d go with Shaq due to his advantage in strength. This would be a battle for the ages regardless.

I would also love to see Michael Jordan vs. Kobe Bryant: I think MJ’s team would win but think it would be an absolute joy to watch those two go at each other possession with seemingly the exact same arsenal of moves.

I saw Chamberlain play and you are absolutely wrong about Shaq being stronger. It’s not even close. Arnold Schwarzenegger has told numerous stories about Wilt’s incredible strength and how he could bench press 475 lbs. There is video on youtube of Shaq standing next to Wilt and he looks small. In addition, Wilt blew away Shaq as far as athlecism, and and had a much bigger wingspan

Listen to Sonny Hill who has run the famous "Sonny Hill Summer League" in Phila for 50 years & it will blow your mind hearing stories about Wilt…..

Hill tells stories about Wilt having to take it easy on opponents b/c he was so freakishly strong he was seriously injuring other players during just routine basketball plays…..

And it’s well documented that Chamberlain bench pressed 550 lbs (not 475 lbs)…. for a man w/ arms that long to BP that much doesn’t even seem human…..

It’s no knock on Shaq who was easily one of the most dominating, physically strongest players who ever lived & I would LUV to see those two go head to head b/c Shaq is one of my all time fav plaers & I feel like he doesn’t get nearly the credit he deserves as an All Time great….. but I don’t think anyone compares w/ Wilt where pure strength is concerned….

This has nothing to do with the size comparison, or the athleticism comparison (we all know he was an amazing track athlete as well), but my favorite thing about Wilt is that he would go out before big games. That guy would party, not get any sleep, and break records. I might be wrong, but I think he pulled an all nighter before the famous 100 point game. He was just as much of a freak of nature as Shaq was.

Also, I might be wrong about this, but didn’t he grab 55 rebounds on Bill Russell, who is only second to Wilt himself in career boards? It wasn’t like he was playing against scrubs… not to mention, he led the league in assists one year.

I’m in my late 20’s and am way too young to have a real opinion on Wilt, but it’s kind of sad how people dismiss him because of his era. I get the impression that he would have been dominant in the modern era, especially if he had the advantages of the training that our bigs get now.

Magic vs. Lebron – would love to see the epic passing

    Elgin Baylor vs. Lebron

Oscar Robertson vs. MJ – Oscar always stays suspiciously quiet when tlaking about mt rushmore.

Reggie Miller vs. Steph Curry – clutch

Steve Nash vs. Steph Curry – crazy handle and shooting

Blake Griffin vs. Karl Malone – power and athleticism

Shaq vs. Dwight Howard – settle the debate

Kevin McHale vs Tim Duncan – both guys had crazy skill and length

Olajuwon vs. Bill Russell – offense vs. defense.

AI vs. Isiah (AI vs. Curry would be amazing though).

Dirk vs. Barkley in thier primes would be a super interesting match up. I can see both player’s having their way offensively.

Dwight vs. Ewing would be another interesting match up IMO.

T-Mac vs LeBron. I never felt like we got to see a legit Prime TMac vs Lebrom, but when they did play, the games were always good.

Iverson vs Westbrook- tell me you wouldn’t watch that game, and I’ll call you a liar

    T-Mac vs Durant

Ben Wallace vs Drummond would be so so fun to watch as a basketball fan.

Harden vs Vince just to see where Harden is skill wise

Curry vs Kevin Johnson for obvious reasons

with this website lately (past 6 months or so).

This is a HYPOTHETICAL question about what YOU would want to see and people are throwing out negs like they are razor filled candy on Halloween! It is an OPINION question, meaning there is no wrong answer.

On top of that, I’ve seen negs for some posts that I would love to see! Stop being keyboard warriors and join the conversation already!

Artest vs Rodman- Train wreck waiting to happen

Curry Vs Bad Boys (80’s rules of course!) How could Curry handle the physicality? How to the bad boys play physical against a guy with those handles and that shot?

Curry vs Pistol- I just wish I could see Pistol play…

McHale vs Duncan- If you like good post play this would be a fun match up

So I’m handing out +1 like Oprah. Happy Holidays.

     Manute Bol vs. Tacko Fall

Dennis Rodman vs. Tony Allen: First to 10 wins

Hakeem Olajuwon vs. Kristaps Porzingas: The Dream is better in the post, but Kristaps is taller, longer, and has more range on his shot.

Runner Up: Kareem vs. Kristaps: Kareem, the prototype center vs. Kristaps, the BIG Small Ball Era Power Forward of the future.  Kareem owned NYC in high school.  Kristaps is currently putting a down payment on the Big Apple.  Kristaps is also flashing a pretty good hook shot right now.

And, OF COURSE: Magic Johnson vs. Ben Simmons

This would be really cool to watch, too: Arvydas Sabonis vs. Domantas Sabonis.  I know that a PRIME Arvydas is bigger, taller, longer, and MORE SKILLED than Domantas but it would STILL be an interesting matchup.

Dr. J. vs. Andrew Wiggins: GREAT, GREAT dunkers and athletic wings.  Both guys can score.  Both probably lack the MJ Alpha CLUTCH GENE but this would be a really entertaining matchup.

Michael Jordan vs. PRIME David Thompson: Both guys could jump out of the gym.  Both had power and could really, really SCORE.  MJ’s hero growing up.

Bob Cousy vs. "White Chocolate" Jason Williams.  Both great and creative passers.  Lots of show boating here.  One on one might not be as interesting since they wouldn’t have anyone to pass to, but in TEAM SETTINGS each guy would make some highlights.

Jerry West vs. Steph Curry: Two KILLER 6’3 guards who could do it ALL: Score, take the last shot, shoot from the parking lot (and beyond), pass, handle the ball, rebound some, and get steals.

Tim Duncan vs. Kevin McHale: Best power forwards in the low post EVER.  Probably the top two low post guys EVER regardless of position.  Each guy can rebound, defend, and block shots, too.

Elgin Baylor vs. LeBron James: Arguably the FIRST do-it-all power small forward high flyer vs. the best in the business at those things since 2003.

Russell Westbrook vs. Oscar Robertson: The CURRENT Mr. All Around Guard vs. the ORIGINAL Mr. All Around Guard.  Both guys are INTENSE, and can play EITHER guard position.

PRIME Isiah Thomas vs. PRIME Derrick Rose in the Battle of Chicago.

Shawn Kemp vs. Blake Griffin for obvious reasons.

Kobe Bryant vs. Jellybean Joe Bryant: Father vs. Son.

Scottie Pippen vs. Kawhi Leonard: SUPERSTAR two-way small forwards battle it out.

Charles Barkley vs. Draymond Green: Sir Charles was one of a kind.  So is Draymond.  Both guys play bigger than they are, since both are/were built like tanks with FREAKISHLY long wing spans.  Both guys are PERFECT small ball 4’s who can ALSO step out some and hit an occassional 3 ball.

Dr. J.

Michael Jordan v. Tony Allen — I remember when Ruben Patterson was the "Kobe stopper," and then Bruce Bowen assumed a similar role, but no one bothered Kobe like TA. It’s a shame that guy hasn’t been a multiple D-POY. In fact, the year Gasol won D-POY, it should have gone to his own teammate. I’d love to see what the kid from Chicago could do against the man who had the key to his city.
