This years Draft class
Is it just me or is in this years Draft there are like 10 players who can potentialy be all stars,Guys like Davis,Beal,Barnes,Lillard,Lamb to me are lock for ASG in couple years and then you have T-Rob,Drummond,Waiters,PJIII,Sully guys who just needs to figure it out(or different team),and there are allot of good players Jones,White,Lamb D.,Henson,Zeller... who can be solid starters,i have this feeling that this is gonna be one of the strongest draft classes ever i dont know why,to me every team could get a solid player this year even in the second round...Do you think this class can give atleast 5 all stars?
5 yes 10 NO
I think this years draft class will be deep and solid. Will provide alot of good players. I think there will be quite a few from late first / second round who will contribute in this league for years to come....
I don't know how many all-stars there will be. Davis will prob be an all-star one day, there might be a couple more. Beal, MKG, Lamb - who knows ?
IMO, Terrence Ross could possibly sneak onto a team like Deng did this past season. I think Davis is a lock with Duncan and Dirk, the top 2 PF's in the West for the last several years, both declining. Lillard could also make a team with Westbrook and Paul being the only locks at the PG spot in the West. Yes, I think Lillard could beat out Tony Parker in a couple seasons
10 all stars are you kidding me? I like this draft class. There's a lot, a lot of solid, albeit not stars this year, but I think the hype for these guys from the summer league games is getting ridiculous.
10 all stars would rank this draft class extremely high. Since 1984 the high number of all stars is 10 which happened in 1985 and 1996.
^^ @zachb I agree. Outside of Anthony Davis and potentially Andre Drummond, I think that this draft is the next wave of great 2nd-3rd options and role players. Players like Jason Terry, Jamal Crawford, Gerald Wallace, Luol Deng, etc.
I think there will be a few all stars (Davis, maybe Drummond, MKG, Beal, Lillard, Barnes) and a bunch who will probably have seasons where they have strong numbers for a few seasons but don't quite make it because either they never play on winning teams and their stats are seen as pointless or there are perrennial all-stars with very few realistic open roster spots for ASG. Think guys like Stephen Jackson, Richard Jefferson, Hedo Turkolu, Josh Smith, etc. I think guys like Jeremy Lamb, Dion Waiters, Thomas Robinson, Myers Leonard, Jarred Sullinger, Terrence Jones, Perry Jones, Austin Rivers, Kendall Marshall, etc. can be these border line all-stars or be considered stars. It was a deep draft aside from only having one "Can't Miss" guy.
He said Harrison Barnes, Lilliard, and Lamb are locks to be all stars in a couple years and got +6 lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
original poster lost me when he left Terrence Ross off his list. That dude is the real deal. I think he will turn out to be the best shooting guard from this draft.
the most intriguing thing is that picks like 12th 16th 21st 25th 28th has as much potential as #2 #3..
i really see around 7 guys making it at least once..yes maybe Davis is only who belongs to nba greats potentially but not every draft has even one that good prospect..then im almost sure that MKG Beal has to make it once, Lamb and Andre are my favourites to be stars i love Wroten too ROyce been amazing..and realistically you should add TRob Barnes too.. so i mentuioned 9guys you can add Sully PJ3 and say at least half of them will make it
Obviously there is a limit to the amount of All-Stars in a particular draft class, but I think this could have a lot of players who play at an All-Star level but miss out because there simply aren't enough spots; for example Deron Williams only recently made the All-Star team in the West despite playing at that level for a long time.
this is a strong draft class but saying that they would have 10 is the max that any draft class so far has in terms of being an all star this draft class may be very strong in terms of potential but i doubt if it will reach 10 maybe some of them would be good role players but who knows we just have to wait and see
has the atributes of making all star appearnces
but we also hjave to claculate last years draft class and the draft class before that to say weather or not they could reach the 10 mark set by the recent 1985 and 1996 draft class
NONSENSE! No one in this draft class is a lock to be an All-Star.
Anthony Davis is going to be whipped around on a terrible Hornets team for at least the next few years. He isn't going to leap the likes of Dirk, Pau, ZBo, and Aldridge anytime soon. Basically every team in the West has a really good power forward. This is like the argument that Serge Ibaka is going to be an All-Star, except that argument never takes place after Ibaka actually has to match up with an All-Star because he doesn't compare (plus as LeBron pointed out, he is stupid).
Beal isn't going to make an All-Star team when Wade and Joe Johnson are shooting guards in the East. Even beyond them, there is zero guarantee he becomes a better player than Monta Ellis, Paul George, Lou Williams, Rodney Stuckey, Ben Gordon, or the Boston duo. Plus, Ray Allen might shoot 50 percent on threes for the next three years while playing with Miami.
Barnes looks phenomenal when his shot is falling, and looks like the worst player on the planet when he gets into his funks. I hope he grows out of his extended slumps, but that is a hope not a guarantee. Even then, the bar for All-Star in the West is Kevin Durant and Rudy Gay. Good luck.
I don't think Damian Lillard can ever be better than a decent starting point guard. He certainly won't be an All-Star. The West isn't losing Ty Lawson, Stephen Curry, Chris Paul, Mike Conley, Ricky Rubio, Russell Westbrook, and Tony Parker anytime soon.
I like Jeremy Lamb, but those Western Conference shooting guards are deep: Mayo, Afflalo, Klay, Crawford, Kobe, the soon to be fat and lazy Gordon, Matthews, Evans, and Manu.
I'm sorry...I'm a little ashamed of my comment about Duncan and Dirk being the top 2 and forgetting about Aldridge, Griffin, and Love....smh it was too late at night for me
you named guys who wont be allstars even in their dreams,Mike Conley?,Afflalo?,Matthews?,Crawford? If you know NBA than you should know that there arent many elite SGs that the reason why i think Beal and Lamb are going to be in ASG and CP3 isnt going to last forever, same thing with Parker and even tho i wasnt that high on Davis,im having change of heart, that kid can ball.period. He WONT BE ALLSTAR IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR,NEITHER ONE OF THEM IS GOING TO DO THAT,IM TALKING 10 YEARS FROM NOW
"you named guys who wont be allstars even in their dreams,Mike Conley?,Afflalo?,Matthews?,Crawford?"
You named Damian Lillard, Jeremy Lamb, and Bradley Beal. I wasn't comparing those guys to Derrick Rose, Kobe, and LeBron, I was pointing out that the upside of the guys in this draft class is nowhere near where you think.
I think this draft will produce a lot of talent that will be key contributors on successful teams in the NBA but it's too early to even consider potential All-Stars as that is just was much reliant upon who else plays their position as anything else.
