I'd still take Mclemore. Afflalo is good, but he's not a part of their future. Bmac has more upside. Take Bmac, he can learn a few things defensively from Afflalo, trade Aaron Afflalo for something at the trade deadline or next offseason, or maybe even this offseason if they really want to throw Mclemore into the fire and get him some experience.
PG is their biggest need, but i'd say Vucevic is their only surefire starter going foward. They need to address the need for talent before they address the positional need.
Burke would give that team a captain. He would give them an identity.
At the 2 guard spot they can resign Aflalo who is a solid shooting guard or try Moe Harkless there even though he is
more of a 3. Next year is a good draft for wings so they can go ahead and take care of their point guard position now.
The Magic are in a good position with either McLemore, Burke, or Noel being a good fit for them.
Personally I would take Burke, they owe Nelson 8.6 mil next year, which would help ease Burke into the league, and a team option the year after that which I'd assume they wouldn't bring him back.
Flip side is if they take Mclemore they still owe Afflalo over 7.5 for the next three years.
On the other hand maybe they should take Mclemore, neither player is going to be a franchise changer next year and with their bad contracts they're going to have to rebuild through the draft so next year they can get their franchise PG in either Smart who I think they would have taken at 2 this year, or Andrew Harrison.
I think that answers is determined on any other moves they may make. Everyone seems to think they should offer Afflalo to LA for Bledsoe, while I think Bledsoe will fail to live up to expectations whenever he is a full fledge starter. But if Paul give LA his word he will resign, I think Bledsoe for Afflalo is a no brainer on both sides, which will then allow Orl to take McLemore.
I also think, if Clev was to move their pick and McLemore was taken, Orl will jump on Noel. His weight questions wouldn't be so much an issue if he is moved to PF, and plays alongside Vuvecic. Noel will be the prefect help side defender, and missing most of next year, if not all, this will assure Orl a top 4 pick in next years draft. In this case, I still think they pursue Bledsoe for Afflalo and will be able to take a wing next year.
Take McLemore, Trade Afflalo. Sign Bledsoe
I think Burke is going to be a great player, I would take him...
Burke fills a need and is probably one of the best players of this draft.
As a Magic fan I want McLemore but would be happy with Burke too. However if we think Burke is the right guy for us I don't think we should be too cute about the pick. Don't trade down for the #5, #6 or the #7 pick, just take him. I don't want to see them trade down with Phoenix or Charlotte only to see someone else (maybe Detroit or Sac) jump in front of them and snag Burke.
I'm higher than a kite if they take McLemore. I would also be happy with Trey Burke. I don't want Noel to the Magic because of the injuries. The Magic really needs guards. I like the idea of drafting McLemore and signing Eric Blesdoe to a contract. Another thought does the Magic have enough cap to go after Brandon Jennings?
McLemore would be a better fit than Noel as they already have a fairly young and deep frontcourt roster but if Cleveland take McLemore then I wonder if they can really pass on Noel.
Afflalo is the sort of player that a contender would like to add to their roster and could give up a draft pick to do so, which would give Rob Hannigan more firepower going forward.
