Would the Bobcats consider...
Drafting Harrison Barnes #1 overall? It would make sense since He goes to school in the area and it just so happens to be Jordans alma mater.
Might as well take Henson too huh?
Hope Jordan doesn't make the pick he'd probably draft Henson or Perry jones cuz of their gifts and they'd bust
Well atleast he has a good tract record
Adam Morrison/Kwame Brown
This is the same guy that traded away Rip for jerry stackhouse ( outside of his prime). So its really no telling what this man will do.
Drummond probably has a higher bust potential then Davis, so he'd probably take him. That team needs help everywhere. Harrison would finally be a sure thing in a team full of maybes; Walker, Mullens, Bismack, Henderson.
With the next Ben Wallace/6'9 Dwight Howard/sleeper of 2011 Draft for playing in a high school game in their mix and will help a team defensively right away though not in the stop people from scoring at will way, they cannot possibly go big, right?
To be fair, no one in this draft is good enough, or at very least advanced enough, to help the Bobcats. If you like Davis, Drummond, Lamb, Barnes, MKG, Jones, or any of the others, you cannot want them to land in Charlotte. They are three top five draft hits away from relevance.
I didn't know Henson had #1 overall pick potential. How is that even the same? Barnes is a top prospect it's not THAT far-fetched
I have a feeling that if they land the number 2 pick, they'll be pressured into taking Barnes..They can say they dont need a defensive player like Davis, becuz they can say they already have Bismack..
This draft is deep, but it doesnt have a Clearcut cant miss prospect like a Magic,Shaq or Lebron...But i see alot of future all stars...
Besides its not like Barnes is that bad of a player he himself was slated to go No.1 not too long ago. At that point it would be him or Lamb and I think Charlotte fans would rather the hometown guy.
Henson is a stud, he just have to have Hood in him haha, but yeah Jordan would draft Barnes, too much potential
If Jordan drafted Barnes, it would actually be a smart move. Barnes is actually the best pick up for them because Diaw should be gone and they have Mullens who is showing promise and Biyombo who is showing he could be on Ibaka's level in another year. They have 2 point guards and Gerald Henderson is their starting 2 guard.
I think Barnes or Lamb would be the best call for the Bobcats.
They are a young promising team and could actually make some noise if they draft smart and dont overpaid unworthy players.
Look at OKC, it took them a few season after they took Durant to be good but they were able to do it by being smart and patient.
Also a lot of players that could not make OKC's deep roster are on Charlotte.
Even OKC's waste so to speak is doing well.
White, Mullens, and one other player I think that was on OKC are playing well for Charlotte.
That just shows how good OKC was at drafting and collecting young talent.
Bobcats need to move Maggette if they can because he does not seem to fit in their plans.
Barnes would be a safe choice as with Diaw moving on then they would have an SF gap. They would need to look at the top big men if the draft does pan out as it stands but if they decided to go with Biyombo and Mullens longer term then MJ and his front office could have a few nice options.
If Barnes was predicted to go 3 or 4 as he is at the moment on Aran's drafts and the Bobcats landed a top 2 pick then they might have a few trade down options and maybe add an extra future pick or a nice complimentary piece.
Hopefully MJ leaves the draft to Rod Higgins, Rick Cho and Paul Silas as they have good experience and can perhaps make the right moves.
I Heard Paul Silas said the other day that Charlotte doesnt have any talent....I wonder how does the players feel after hearing their coach say that?
Jordan probably said the same thing.....To their face. But seriously, he really said that?
I thought Barnes went to HS in Iowa?
He did but he still goes to school in-state, that counts for something right?
Yep,Paul Silas said that his team had NO Talent...Well he was telling the truth....
Well good for him in my opinion when your career has the lowest job security in the world you should be allowed to speak your mind.
First overall I'd still go with Drummond, but I'd take Barnes over anyone else given team need and from a marketing standpoint.
If UNC win the national championship this season I think Jordan would leap at the chance to take Barnes with the first or second pick. I just hope MJ doesn't pick up Davis, they need scorers more than anything and only Lamb, Barnes or Drummond fit that requirement.
