    According to basketballvalue.com:

Comparing OKC’s starting lineup purely against every other teams’ starting lineup… OKC’s ranks 26th. The teams below are Toronto, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Utah.

    But…

Out of 20 combinations of units the Thunder have put on the floor this season, the starting 5 of Westbrook, Thabo, Durant, Green, and Krstic ranks 19th in terms of plus/minus for the season. Is there another team whose starting lineup is virtually the worst unit it can put on the court? I don’t think so.

My criteria is strategy, not overall talent.

If you’ll go back to my original post, I didn’t knock the players so much, just how they were used (which is on Brooks).

I said Durant struggles at the two, which is a statistical fact. Yet Brooks plays him there sometimes. And I didn’t say Green was a bad player, I said Brooks always plays him a ton of minutes even when he’s having a bad game. Harden is getting enough playing time… he is much better than Thabo right now, and even Daequon Cook has been outplaying Thabo.

Every team has effective lineups and ineffective lineups. The lineup of WB, Thabo, KD, Green, and Krstic is a very ineffective lineup for the Thunder.

How can Toronto be even in this category when their starting lineup is Calderon, Derozan, Klieza, Evans, and Bargnani. Toronto was like 7th in the East when Evans got hurt..

Yesterday everyone who commented said that Toronto’s was one of the worst… are you saying they’re all wrong and Toronto has a top 10 starting lineup?

And I’m still getting a plethora of negatives on the original thread because people see “worst starting lineup” and “OKC” in the same sentence and freak out and jump to conclusions without paying attention to what the argument is saying.

I’m not saying that OKC’s starting lineup is “worse” than Sacramento, for example…

But statistically the Kings starting lineup is more effective than the Thunders starting lineup.

The Kings starting lineup is the best lineup they put on the floor, and the Thunders starting lineup is almost the worst starting lineup they can put on the floor.

Toronto is in the some boat as Cleveland, they have not had their Starting lineup for more then 20 games. Even during those first 20 games when they went 9-11, Jack and Calderon plus Weems and Klieza were shifting in and out at PG and  SF. Then Evans got hurt, Weems for a month, Calderon was in and out, Barbosa, Klieza were out, Jack got traded, Bayless was hurt, only Derozan has really been heallthy, and when we had a consistant srotation we were 9-11. Obviously ours is one of the worst now, but over the course of the season weve been inured so you cant really speak much of it especially if youre willing to say Clevelands is not being spoken on.

Raptors are my other favorite team but damn its hard watching Bargnani and Calderon as the floor general, he’s good off the bench though.. the only bright spots in my opinion are Demar Derozan and Ed Davis.. if they get Kyrie Irving, things get really interesting in Raptorland..

too bad the Kings are getting Kyrie… but good point people are dumb and rush to conclusion with a young squad why not use young players? same situation here in SAC with less talent ofcourse our coach uses players off their reputation and not what they are doing right now… i wouldnt mind trading Scott or Paul though =D

Ahmm Leftovers, if you are talking about the coaches Paul Westphal and Scott Brooks then you can’t trade them. Coaches don’t get traded like players do. They get fired or are let go. And I don’t appreciate you asking them to be traded like you would a player. They may not be very smart in their lineups but give them some respect. And this is a playoff coach we are talking about here, so I think he knows what he is doing, same goes for Utah, and to a much higher extent since their coach has been around for ages and has made it to the playoffs countless times. I think you’ve got to put another criteria in how bad a lineup is, their coach, since he’s the one who decides everything.
