Heartbreaking loss for us but i have to give props to the hawks they played amzing as a team and i expect them to advance to the finals past cleveland.

(only thing i have to say is that schroder should not be trying to purposely target another players injury, but i still have to give him props for playing huge against us)

As a Wizards fan as well, I respect the Hawks. They have no real superstars, but a lot of really good players. They remind me a ton of the 2004 Detroit Pistons. They had 4 of their starting 5 as all-stars also. As for the Wiz, they need to shore up their frontcourt. Wall and Beal need some help. Gortat is solid but he was abysmal in this game and sat basically the entire second half. Nene is absolutely done in DC. He is terrible. He bricks free throws, makes terrible decisions, and boneheaded defensive plays allowing the Hawks to score at will on layups. The Wiz absolutely need to look for a big to play with this summer through the draft or free agency. Wall and Beal will ensure the Wiz are contenders in the East for years to come.

in the draft id hope that either they can grab portis or that turner falls low enough to the wizards (not likely to happen) and in free agency id say try give an offer to david west or at least take a flyer on derrick williams because im sure that in the right system he still has some potential (plus would fit in very nicely with the small ball lineups that washington has been playing lately)

Pierce hit so many clutch shots that series, it’s ridiculous. I feel like we were robbed, that series deserved to go 7 games, for the players and the fans. One of the better series I’ve seen over the last couple of playoffs.

I think the Wiz learned a lot this series. We saw the emergence of Otto Porter/Bradley Beal, as both of them are going to be great players going forward. We also so that NeNe is as good as gone, and the Wiz need to find a better #4 asap. If they are lucky someone like Portis/Kaminski/Lyles will fall, and they will have another young piece to the puzzle.

I also think ATL has to be feeling good, as they played horribly against a pretty good defense, and still managed to squeak out some wins. D. Carrol was by far their best player this series, upped his scoring, and was a big impact player. They are going to need him to continue this level of play if they are going to have any chance of beating CLE.

I think they also need to find out how to get Kyle Korver better looks. The Wiz really tightened things up, and Korver was the one who was effected the most. He only shot like 37% from 3 which is still good, but I don’t think that will get it done. He needs to be a factor against CLE.

I was hoping they would count it, just so the series wouldn’t be over. Great series overall. Two very evenly matched teams. Atlanta is just a little bit better right now as far as execution but Washington really grew a lot in these playoffs.

And that was absolutely remarkable that pierce was even able to get a shot off in that situation, let alone make it. Dude is just a stone cold assasin in those moments. I honestly can’t say I’ve seen a more impressive display of clutch shooting in one playoffs since Jordan.

Would love to see them pick Bobby Portis at #19. I think he’d be an absolute perfect fit for their roster. Big man with a good mid-range jumper who is willing to do the dirty work and has a seemingly never ending motor. I don’t know if he’d be an upgrade over Nene right away as a rookie but could really see him start to flourish once he gets his feet wet. A core of John Wall, Bradley Beal, Otto Porter, and Bobby Portis would be a huge threat in the East year in and year out.

Loved this series. Almost perfect ending if it would have gone to overtime. If only the Wizards could redo their 2011 draft.

Obviously hindsights 20/20 but the Wiz didn’t do Jan many favors. The kid showed glimpses of being a productive player but the Wiz wouldn’t let the kid build up his confidence.  From what I have heard he has played really well in the Euroleague (obviously not the same caliber as the NBA but still). Obviously Singleton was abysmal I don’t even know what league he is playing in at the moment.

Maybe you’d be interested in Bjelica? Just named Euroleague MVP. The Wolves would give him up for the 19th pick for sure.

Paul Pierce was eliminated by karma on this series.  few second too late this time,a few second too soon the last time. You were right Paul Pierce, the series was over. Except you didn’t win but the opposing team did. I think this Wiards team has to stop talking that much. I mean I saw 15 or 20 regular season Hawks game, and to start an argument on the flor with one of the Hawks guys, either you’re a serious dumba$$,or you’re just trying too hard to be "tough". At some point when you argue with anyone, you might be the problem. I think they need a heavy dose of humility going into next year.

Why do people say a team with multiple all stars has no Super star.  If your team has 3 or 4 All Stars and a good second unit, that whole no Super Stars goes out the window.  Whether a player is a Super Star is more about hype.  There was a time Tony Parker was not considered a super star and the he was and now not so much.  Chris Bosh wasn’t and then he was.  It changes because there is no set criteria but if a team has players good enough to make the All Star game maybe one of them is either a Super star or have Super Star potential.

I think with Atlanta, they share the ball so much, it is hard for people to know how good any one player is or if he could be a Super Star.  Holford is a double double waiting to happen.  Milsap is one of the most vesatile scorers in the league.  Teague can get into the lane with the best of them.  Korver has turned himself from a role player to a dead eye assassin. Carrol is a versatile wing with great energy.  Schoder is a bk point guard who could start for many teams.  The rest of the guys are specialist who can all shoot the 3 regardless of position.

Washington had the better team if healthy,  a couple of plays did not go their way or else they would be going to face the Cavs.  Cavs would beat either one so at least Wall gets to rest his hand for next season a lil earlier.
