Kyle Witljer has just gone off.

    45 pts, 6 rbs, 4 assists.  7-10 from 3. 8-9 from the line, connecting 15-22 overall.

He is now up to 16.4 ppg for the season.  Definitely a strong candidate for NPOY, maybe finishing top 3 behind Kaminsky and Okafor.

I don’t understand how he nor any of Gonzaga’s players are projected to be drafted in this upcoming draft

Because they aren’t good NBA prospects. Wiltjer is a really nice college player, but we see guys like him (not to this level) in college all the time that don’t translate to the NBA.

I love Gonzaga so I hope people aren’t assuming I’m "hating" on their team. Nothing wrong with not having NBA talent…I think they are one of the few teams that can hang with Kentucky.

I think Wiltjer leaves this year if he continues this torrid pace. I think Sabonis will take over the Gonzaga star big man role next season and will go lottery next year. You don’t see big men as skilled as him growing on trees.

I love Sabonis, he is really good and needs antother year. But based off of talent, if Sabonis left he would be top 10. Kyle reminds me of Ersan or Austin Daye. He shoukd leave tho because his stock cant get any higher.

Great to see him having such a good year. He really put in a ton of work to transform his body during that redshirt yr and its clearly paying dividends. Unfortunately, I think he’s one of those guys whose game just doesn’t really translate very well to the NBA. Despite, the drastic improvements he’s made, he just isn’t strong or athletic enough to compete with NBA level athletes. Absolute best case scenario I see him as a Ryan Kelly type, but Kelly is still longer and more athletic. He’ll have a nice career playing somewhere, just not sure it’ll be in the NBA.

The combine would kill Wiltjer.  He’s got that old man game that people aren’t into.
