Wilson Chandler agrees to a 5 year 37 million dollar deal with the Nuggets

After almost a month's wait, Wilson Chandler is officially a Nugget once again.

The talks between the Nuggets and Chandler have been ongoing for the past three weeks, and the main sticking point was that the Nuggets wanted Chandler to sign a long-term deal, and Chandler wanted a one year deal making him an Unrestricted Free Agent this Summer.

Chandler will be a major addition for the Nuggets not only for the future, but he should be able to help them climb the ladder in the West. This makes them 11 deep with qualit players, and to me makes them a legitamite threat to the Thunder this May.

I know 7.6 million a year is a lot, but if you look at what a guy like Aflalo got, and even Gallinari, he could've gotten a bit more. But one thing he got that they didn't was that 5th year, which we previously assumed they were saving for Ty Lawson.

Glad this is done now, and I really think that a rotation of Miller, Lawson, Fernandez, Aflalo, Brewer, Gallinari, Chandler, Harrington, Faried, and McGee can challange any team in the league.

And the Nuggets waived Ronny Turiaf, whom they aquired today. I thought he'd be a solid big to have on the bench, but I guess they were cool with Kosta Koufas and Timofey Mosgov to backup McGee.

I would not be the least bit

I would not be the least bit surprised if they win their 1st round match-up and take their 2nd round match-up to game 7.

I don't like this, Gallinari

I don't like this, Gallinari was playing his best as a SF before he went down with an injury, I still feel as though they need to make a choice between Gallo and Chandler if they are ever going to be successful in the playoffs, because the two are too close together for any sort of real pecking order to be established, which is important in the post-season.

chandler, afflalo, gallianari

chandler, afflalo, gallianari are all there for a long time and i like this trio.

faried is a beast and a great teammate

mozgov and koufos will bring the size they need (and they're still young)

......but I still don't like this néné for javale trade.... the nuggets will have to extend and overpay him this summer.

The RFA idea really support

The RFA idea really support the Nuggets here. I don't see anyone offering Javale a huge contract since he's a headcase, so all they have to do is wait and match. Karl is an excellent coach who's handled Kemp and Payton before. This could work out in a big way. I think this team makes a conference finals in the next 3-years.

Nene wasn't a good shot

Nene wasn't a good shot blocker or great rebounder. McGee blocks shots and rebounds at a high rate plus they're not gonna have to pay him more then they paid Nene so they save money and get more production either way.

And I too wonder how Wilson fits in but he's so versatile he's going to get minutes anyway. Once Gallo get's back I'd start him at 2guard tho.

Let Chandler come off the

Let Chandler come off the bench. He's great as a stretch 4, backup 3 and backup 2. With he, Faried, Birdman, Kafa, and Andre, this is perhaps the best bench in the league. Also, I adore Faried's game. He and Lawson can be a poor man's Zeke and Rodman.

find myself agreeing with

find myself agreeing with omphalos again....

"they need to make a choice between Gallo and Chandler if they are ever going to be successful in the playoffs, because the two are too close together for any sort of real pecking order to be established, which is important in the post-season."

heard of this before. we take a look at the most winningest teams: kobe-shaq tandem. jordan-pippen-rodman NEVER hung out together out-the-court.

imo the thing behind this theory is that if your not friends, you are able to hold each other more accountable for mistakes. taking bad shots, not boxing out, making dumb TOs etc

...

p.s. every team needs a guys like faried.

Magic was supposedly friends

Magic was supposedly friends with like all the Lakers. Zeke was the leader and friends with the Bad Boys. The Spurs all get along great reportedly. This theory holds little water, future scout.

Anyone else watching the

Anyone else watching the Dallas @ Denver game on TNT and see Wilson Chandlers new tattoos? Dude looks like Birdman now with all those tattoos on his neck, just without the color.

Interesting, that he got less

Interesting, that he got less money than Afflalo, and I always thought Chandler was the better player between the two.

Not saying that Chandler is

Not saying that Chandler is better than Gallo, but it's not as far apart as it seems to be. I'd be fine with one or the other, but even though neither bangs down low too much, Chandler is a bit more physical and agressive on hte defensive end.

Damn, these guys looked absolutly gassed. I've never seem a season in which there was so much mutual walking up and down the court.
