Wall is good but come on People......LEARN Will you! he has yet to play against real competition. AAU is &$#%#&@! and and so is prep ball. Wait until he plays against grown men who are twice his size.
He is a stick figure compared to rose... needs atleast 20-30lbs. NEeds a JUMP shot. Chris Paul destroyed people with his shot so did Williams and Ray Felton. Even rose had a 3x better shot.
THINK CHILDREN!!!! Wall is Hype right now and will be in the draft all because of Rose when the two are nothing alike.
Here is my take on John Wall. I'll start off by saying he will live up to hype and become a monster player in the NBA. Since he is Rose like, i will make a lot of comaprisons between the two of them. First off Rose is the most athletic pg to ever play in the NBA, but it seems like Wall is quicker, end to end faster and has a higher vert. Wall also has amazing handles like Rose, and tends to overdribble...like Rose. He is bigger, faster and more athletic then one of the best pg prospects ever. He is very raw though. He is lanky, he has good strength but he needs to gain muscle. He can't shoot near Rose and Rose is considered a poor shooter. He is not the playmaker (yet) like Rose and he needs to prove he can lead a team. So we are talking about Rajon Rondo with Derrick Rose' athleticism minus 10-15 pounds. The dude will be fantastic, but it will take a few years to be the franchise changer I see in him.
If he isnt a better athlete than Rose, its real close. Probably a draw. I dont think he can shoot, but he has the form and touch to develop into a decent shooter. As far as PG skills, he could make better decisions but he is a good passer and I could see him averaging 7-8 assists in the NBA. He has great handles too. A good defender, and I could see him blocking layups on fast breaks much like Rose does. He could get stronger, and probably will. Also, he's 6'2 or 6'3, not 6'4 like he's listed
John Wall is one of the beasts of next year's draft. I think the Rose comparisons are about a draw. The thing that will make Wall the better player is defense. Rose is one of the worst man-to-man defenders at his position. My question is, if Wall turns out to be the PG version of Duncan/Shaq (automatic champion HOF #1 picks) right after a draft where almost every team got their PG of the future and since next year's draft is considered waaaaaay stronger (at least in the lottery portion) does that scenario spell doom for some team or player?
I think Rose is the reason Wall is getting so much attention and while he may live up to hype I believe Derrick Rose is a better player and will have the better career.
Derrick Rose has always had a solid body and Wall is pretty skinny. Rose has better play making ability and a better jump shot. Wall has a huge wingspan and is a better on ball defended. I'm not sure which of the two is faster
I disagree that Wall is a better athlete. Rose has only shown flashes of his athleticism at Memphis and with the Bulls. In high school he was an absolute freak. I think wall has a bigger wingspan which makes him be able of dunking easier, but Rose has the better verticle

After big time recruits like BJ Mullens, DeMar Derozan and Jrue Holliday never really impressed in their first and only year in college i'm gonna wait before i call him the next big thing. John Wall has all the tools to be great and I'm not saying he won't be but I want to see how he competes in a much improved SEC next year. Will he be like Derrick Rose and take his time to the championship game or be like Jrue Holliday and have a quick exit from the tourney?

Yes being athletic usually makes people over rated. On April 27, 2009, Wall was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering after police found him walking out of a vacant house in Raleigh, North Carolina. He and two other teenagers were briefly detained and cited, but not arrested. Yes that makes him a thug.
How does that make him a thug? Have you ever made a mistake before? Rhetorical question. You cant pass judgement on anyone that you dont know. At the end of the day, if you walked up and slapped him in the middle of the street he wouldnt know who you were. One runin with the law doesnt make him thug. get real man
I like what I see from this kid. If coach Cal schools him the way he schooled Rose will he get even better and live up to the hype? How good will Wall be in your opinion off what you have seen thus far?
