Celtics3178Participantruss currently sits at 89 oscar had 181. I think he has a good chance too do it but I’m not 100 percent sure wondering people’s thoughts.

Anton123ParticipantIt’s gonna be really hard, Russel is not even halfway yet, and he is 29. I don’t see Russell being a triple-double machine 3-4 years from now, he still may be a great player, but I think his rebounding will go down, especially if his team stops drawing up defensive schemes that are specifically designed to get him defensive boards.
If I had to bet on it, I’d say he ends up being second of all time, last year was insane, but I don’t think even Russell wants to repeat that, he wants to win, and I think on a contending team he won’t be getting 20+ triple doubles a year.

joe2324ParticipantI think Westbrook gets off on looking at his box score after every game. He plays the game to pad his stats. I’m surprised he isn’t looking for steals more to get a quad double.

thedeathtouchParticipantThis year, I wouldn’t call the Thunder a contending team quite yet. They are barely in the playoffs, with a losing record. If PG, Melo, and Russ can work on having better chemistry, and they start winning more games, I would then call them contenders. Not so much right now.

SlickBouncePassParticipantI compare every team in the league based on how they compare to Philly. Philly is my constant.
Lebron is therefore and continues to be an athletic monster with huge shoulders and size.
Westbrook may have been tired but I am sure last year took a toll on him. At 29 he looked tired the first three quarters against Philly. He was not the old Westbrook from Westbrook-Durant and last year.
Westbrook relies very heavily on his athleticism and the more he does, the more minutes he plays, his body is gonna hurt. Good luck to him but Iverson (who played similarly) had a career cut short (fluid in knees)…looks doubtful because so much of waht Westbrook does is explosive, takes a toll on you.
I don’t think we’ll see the same westbrook at 34.

HitsterParticipantIt’s interesting that LBJ only has 61 triple doubles yet averages over 7rpg and 7apg across this career. Also I was surprised Wilt wasn’t higher in the list as any time he had 10 assists per game he would have very likely got a triple double.
It will be interesting to see how many someone like Ben Simmons racks up over the next few years, but they are far rarer than you may think. For example Giannis hasn’t achieved one this season yet he is 6ft 11ins and his team’s main ball carrier.
Westbrook interestingly only had 37 until start of last season so has added 52 in about 112 games. He could well pass Jason Kidd on the all time list this season the rate he is going and Magic will then be in his sights. He isn’t half way to Oscar’s record yet, so I wouldn’t start thinking about that until he maybe hits 150.
