We clearly all know what Kevin Durant has been up to with his 30+PPG streak. A couple more games and he has the chance to break the all time record. All though this does not win him a ring, it really is fun to watch for fans.

I wanted to see when you guys tthink the streak would end/at how many games. Here are some of the future games the Thunder have:

    Tonight @ Brooklyn

    Tomorrow @ Washington

    Feb 3 Vs Memphis

    Feb 5 Vs Minnesota

    Feb 7 @ Orlando

    Feb 9 Vs New York

I think it is a walk in the park for him until Memphis at least and if that does not stop him.. It will be a long time.

Unless he is faced with a situation where the Thunder are up by 20+ by the 4th and Coach Brooks does not play him. Which leads me to my other question, As a Coach would you allow Kevin Durant to play the 4th until he gets 30 to continue the streak or would you bench him with a comfortable lead?

I’m sure my home town Magic will hold KD to 29… I mean, we have the best defensive point forward in the league in Big Baby. Glen Davis is Durantula’s kryptonite!

But in all seriousness, KD probably won’t get 30 against the Magic when the Thunder are up 40 in the 3rd quarter and Durant is cooling it on the bench.

If I were a coach I would leave it up to the player.  I think the sustained confidence could only be a good thing in a playoff run.  KD is still young enough to play 40 minutes per game, let em eat.

Only person that could stop Durant is Westbrook.

In all seriousness, this guy is on a hot run and is fun to watch him play.  Last season, when Westbrook went down, Durant looked tired and uncomfortable.  This time around, the guy is having a lot of fun out there on the court, which is what’s helping him loosen up.

To answer your question though, I think Memphis has the best shot to keep him under 30.  They’ve been so good defensively since Marc Gasol came back.  Tayshaun Prince can’t match Durant step-by-step on offense but he can surely bother him with his length.  Throw Gasol down-low, and it might cut off some driving lanes.

The only way to slow down Durant is with team defense for 48 minutes, focused on him, Memphis has the defense to do that but even then, it’s questionable if they can slow him down at all at this point.  Q-Pon and Prince are going to have to give it all they’ve got if they want to keep him from 30.

Quincy is out for the season.  Tayshaun, Mike Miller, and James Johnson will get most of the minutes if Tony Allen doesn’t get back on the court.  Could be a big night if Durant only has to deal with those 3…

I think Prince and Johnson can give him some problems.  Well, not problems per se.  Hell, not even LeBron James himself gave him problems.  But Prince and Johnson aren’t bad defenders either.  Especially with Gasol clogging the lane.

Now, I wouldn’t bet money that the Grizzlies keep him under 30, but if I had to pick a team to do it, it would be them.

How can you stop someone from scoring who can nail  28 footers in a milisecond? He’s range during this streak has been historic.

it’s not a team..he can score 30 on anyone, last game against LeBron showed it I think..

it’s just when he will have a bad shooting night..but it won’t be because of the opponents it will be because of KD himself

I see it ending in Brooklyn tonight or in Washington tomorrow if he gets 30 tonight.  If nothing else, I think the Wizards break the Thunder winning streak.  Since Durant was drafted, the Thunder is 2-5 against Washington when playing in DC, including 0-3 in the month of January.  The past two years it’s been a lot of poor team execution.
