Will the Heat lose again in this regular season?
Boy would I not want to be the team carrying a 39 game winning streak into the play-offs. Nowhere to go but down, expectations would be massive. My guess is once they wrap up the East, they probably start resting Bron/Wade/Bosh. Milwaukee beat them by 19 last time they played there, plus their have been a few games even in this streak that have been nail biters with some teams that one would think they would kill.
The NBA is a marathon and not a sprint (cliche saying, I know, yet true). While Miami is going at an incredible pace as of late, they will have a few games where they slow down and conserve some energy, because it is for the health of their team. Can they beat anybody? Absolutely, plus it seems hard to believe they will lose a 7 game series against anyone (Yes, even San Antonio at full strength, though agree they would give them the best match-up).
Even so, think them winning much more than 20 or getting to close to the 1971-72 Lakers 33 game streak seems pretty darn unlikely. I would say a 64-18 record is not out of the question, though feel 63-19 or 62-20 is much more reasonable. I guess getting home court through out the play-offs is something to shoot for, so they could be playing for that. Still feel they take a much more laid back approach at the end of the season.
taking a look at their schedule right now and i have to say...it might be possible that they go into the playoffs without losing another game. the only real threats i see are the spurs, bulls and knicks...i guess they could lose a few at the end of the season if spo decides not to play the stars.
realistically speaking i see their streak going to 27-30 games. they play 6 of their next 9 games against teams below .500.
They will lose before the regular season is done. 72-10 is a really hard record nowadays to beat unless you have great back up players (which the Heat don't) because if a team even gets close to that record you can bet that they'll be resting their stars for a couple games before the playoffs.
yes, I don't know when it will happen, but I think that once the Heat lock up the #1 seed in the East then Spo will probably rest LBJ, Wade, and Bosh over the last 2-3 games of the regular season to ensure that they are fresh for the post-season. The Heat are playing great right now and certainly look like the favorites to win it all this year, but they will lose again before the regular season comes to an end
Im watching them blowing out the pacers right now, and it makes me wonder, will they drop 1 or 2 before the season ends? I cheked their schedule, and the only real test they have is against the Spurs and the Knicks, they also face the Celtics and Bulls at some point, but well you know.. Im not saying they wont lose a game, but curious about the possiblities, what do you guys think?
