Wiggins at UNC
If he watches this tonight he won't go to UNC. UNC have been so disorganised it is pathetic, they have ran about 3 plays all game other than that they are jacking up aimless shots, early in the shot clock.
the fact that he is attending the game tonight means he has interest. what if he considers it a challenge to beat duke? hard to say what is in the mind of wiggins. i don't think this game determines where he goes. he has a chance to go to all of those schools still but i get this feeling he will not go to kentucky and your hopes are safe.
He's only there to visualize how he plans on dominating both teams next year when he suits up for FSU.
What an ugly game for UNC. McAdoo plays 34 minutes and only gets 3 rebounds and 0 blocks. Paige looked awful and had 5 TO's. They were jacking up bad shots all night and if I am Wiggins I didn't see anything that would make me want to join this squad. The only reason to go to UNC at this point is because Roy Williams is the coach and obviously they have an established tradition.
If you look at who comes back for this year Hairston and Bullock will be their best players. They are both swingmen like Wiggins. He obviously would start but it wouldn't be a great fit for him from a basketball standpoint in my mind.
Come to UK Andrew, you won't regret it.
I see there are a lot of people who don't like Kentucky, ok.
If you think Wiggins would have a problem getting playing time at Duke you must be a bitter Duke fan. I don't really care where he goes, but if you think he wouldn't get ahead of Rasheed Sulaimon, Rodney Hood or even Jabari Parker, you are massively wrong.
After the ass whooping we gave unc that wiggins doesn't go to Unc. But to be honest another side of me wants him to go there to see him and Parker go head to head. Imagine how fun that rivalry would be? At the same time wiggin could go to Kansas and start a rivalry against Julius randle if he commits to Texas. Too crazy
The way they play would have nothing to do with him deciding not to pick them. No player has ever not picked a school because they lost while they we on their visit. UCLA lost when their recruits came to the games, UK has lost when their recruits were at the games, KU as well. fSU got destroyed when Wiggins watched them play yet they are still on his list. Losing while they are there means nothing
I think getting a first hand view of the UNC team that will be largely unchanged next year could have a negative effect on the Tar Heel's chances of getting Wiggins.
Roy simply doesn't know how to use wings properly. Chapel Hill isn't a place for guys like Wiggins hell even a guy like Harrison Barnes who I still think made a mistake by going there.
Speedy PG's and dominant low post players thrive in Roy's system and he won't have either of those kinds of players next year. Roy's offense is only run run run dump down to the post run run run. That's why it's a horrible place for wing players because you get turned into a spot up jump shooter since Roy doesn't have any real half court plays.
Just look at PJ Hairston and Reggie Bullock who are two of the most talented players in the ACC. Roy has no idea what to do with them. Carolina fans were clamoring for him to change his system this year because of his wing heavy team and go to a small lineup but he never did until he was forced to because of a Joel James injury before the Duke game. And see how well they've been playing since then? And even with the lineup change he still isn't running plays to utilize their talents completely.
Sorry. For Wiggins sake, I hope he doesn't go to Chapel Hill.
Even though UNC is my 2nd favorite team, I agree with you. The PG situation isn't going to get any better next year and while I think UNC will be a better team overall, Wiggins would likely be held back by their system. He'd be showcased best at Kentucky to be honest.
Is that he goes to Kansas or FsU so that he can really shine. At Kentucky he def wont get his oppurtunities with all the talent they have and I don't think they will recreate the title team Kentucky had a year ago. That chemistry and leadership isn't the same. At FSU the only thing is that Leonard Hamilton doesn't really know how to coach an offense in my opinion. Watch them play and you will see what I mean. Their plays are horrible

Andrew Wiggins is in attendance for the UNC Duke game tonight. I predict if UNC loses they will have almost no chance of signing him. The frontrunners to land Wiggins are FSU and Kentucky with Kansas and UNC also still in the running. I think his list could get shorter tonight or If Marcus Paige plays well and UNC wins they could jump ahead.
I don't really care where he goes as long as it isn't Kentucky. Kentucky has enough elite talent coming in that they will be exciting enough to watch next year. Getting a player like Wiggins at FSU could do wonders for the program and being his fathers alma mater I can see why he is so interested. UNC would be a good spot because he could go head to head with Parker at least twice in the best rivalry in the NCAA. Kansas could have the #1 pick this year in Ben McLemore so I can also see the appeal of playing in Lawrence. I really can't wait to see Wiggins play no matter where he ends up.
