I was watching the UK vs Louisville game and realized how much I wanted Louisville to win this game. I am not a Louisville fan nor do I have ties to the school or city. I just want them to beat Kentucky. My dislike for them is so much that I have based who to pull for on other gamesby who I felt would have the best chance of knocking UK out the tournament.
What are sport teams you find yourself genuinely rooting against and what are your reasons. Whether valid or ridiculous. Why are you hating???
I know it's a basketball site but you can include any sport team you dislike. Here's mines.
- Miami. Only because of the "decision " Had a problem with that.
- Chicago. Just can't stand dealing with my loud mouthed chicago-borned co worker.
- Wisconsin. Rivals to Minnesota
- Kentucky. Probably just jealous they can get the top players year after year. Just don't seem fair.
Duke, Lakers, Yankees, Cowboys
Its more or less the fans that make you hate the teams
Virginia Tech (any sport): rival to my school, UVA.
Lakers: Rival to my Celtics.
Giants: Beat my team, the Patriots, in 2 super bowls. Both were in the last minute, just painful.
Yankees: Rival to my Sox. I hate almost all of their players, atop my list is A-Rod.
I hate alot of the same as wiz kids...Yankees and redsox (equally) Lakers Celtics Spurs Colts Cowboys Patriots Duke UNC and especially Georgetown and Uconn (cuse fan) prolly more i dont like a lot of teams ha and I usually dont like the big market teams more of an underdog kinda guy
This was planned to be with my original post but my tablet started to act up
- Chicago Bulls and White Sox. See annoying co worker from Bulls section
- New York Yankees. I don't think they win the right way.
- Green Bay Packers. Rivals to my Vikings
- New England Patriots . Rivals to my Colts.
- Notre Dame football. Kind same as the Kentucky. Year after year top recuits.
Hmmmm teams I hate...
NY Yankees- Phillies fan and have always hated NY
Duke- UNC fan growing up and just always disliked Duke and Dukies.
Mets- NY ugh
Cowboys- Philly sports fan, a genuine dislike for Troy Aikman.
Heat- I like LBJ though I've decided
Packers- although Aaron Rodgers makes it increasingly difficult b/c I'm a fan of his, but I grew up a Vikes and Eagles fan.
Giants- Philly sports fan and I flat out don't like Eli Manning
West Virginia- Lets Go PITT
duke, yankees, red sox, patriots, celtics, unc, cubs, ohio state, st. louis cardinals, phillies, knicks, steelers
I know it's a basketball site but you can include any sport team you dislike.
- Kentucky: They are extremely talented, very good and maybe the best team in the country. But have been overhyped, played weak non conference only played 4 good teams and the rest cupcakes. Played in weak conference. Making college basketball competion level worse by taking all the top talent every year.
- Duke: Huge Carolina fan so its a must. And the River shot has made the hate alot worse.
- Heat: The decision was horrible period. Not a big fan of top talent pre-determining they want to hook up and play together while leading everyone else to believe other wise, and act like it just happened and wasnt planned.
- Lakers: It isnt as much of i hate the Lakers i just dont like Kobe. I love his game but his attitude and cockiness is way over the top. I dont mind passion but he takes it to another level. Also he act as if he's the best to ever have played, and guys cant be as good as him. When asked a question he always got a smart comment like when asked about Lin he said he hadnt heard of him. Or when he said he has nevered had a rival or true competion as the best SG his whole career. Guys like Tracy McGrady, Allen Iverson, and Vince Carter where up there with you in terms of talent for most of your career but injuries and attitude had limited those guys.
One team I really hate is the Oklahoma City Thunder. It's just their playing style that bothers the hell out of me. How do they win so many games even though they only have 3 scorers on the team? It's confuses and angers me. OKC fans also piss me off telling me how great their team is. As a life-long Spurs fan, when OKC loses in the postseason and the fans start complaining about whose fault it is, I'll tell them to...
Duke : Im a huge UNC Fan and Johnny Chill's hatred toward the Tar Heels
Lakers : Fisher's .4 shot against my Spurs
The Clippers are the one sports team that I really don't like. There's the Donald Sterling factor, which needs no explaination. Chris Paul has been both cocky and dirty since college. I used to really like Blake Griffin, but since late last season I haven't been able to stand his extreme arrogance. Almost everything the team does these days upsets me. That's probably not fair, but I can't control how I feel.
^^^^I'm close to including the Clips as well. Blake is really starting to get annoying and his arrogance is exactly it. He may be around 6'10" but his head is well above 7ft.
I like Philadelphia fans because they seem to hate everyone except thier own.
Vikings are the team I hate more then any other in any sport. But the Spurs, Lakers, Celtics and Patriots are other teams I strongly dislike.
Vikings-90% of the fans I've met are stupid and I'm a Packer fan.
Spurs-Always beat Phoenix
All the others just because they win too much.
Edit: To be fair, 100% of Packer fans either troll or are insanely sarcastic.
Team I hate: Lakers
Why: Besides me feeling that my Sacramento Kings were cheated out of a championship. I hate their fans, and I hate their sense of entitlement, arrogance, and overall fair-weather fans.
Yeah I hear Philly is a die hard sportstown. Didn't they boo Santa Claus at a sporting event once?
F DA PO how do you dislike the Cubs? I know they didn't beat your team cause they don't beat anyone ever.
Forgot to add Duke basketball. Ever since Lattner stomped on that players chest I hated the team. Funny Kevin Love had his own version of a chest stomp but I still like him. Guess I have selective chest stomping criteria.
As a Philadelphian...
We booed and threw snowballs at Claus.
We throw batteries and other junk at people who wear NY junk into Philadelphia facilities.
Heard of a fan who intentionally puked on a little child b/c they were wearing an opposing team's junk
Fight Rangers fans outside of Geno's. Also pay homeless men to spray them with piss in a water gun.
Habitually cuss out New Yorkers and Cowboy fans.
Create unique Romo Homo sayings.
Instigate pranks from the Phanatic.
Boo players when they play like sh*t.
Drink lots of beer and yell out E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
Stare @ our sexy ass Eagle Cheerleaders.
Piss in and and around urinals.
Enjoy cheesesteaks and italian ice.
Brian Dawkins is still my pastor.
I HATE the Ohio State F*uckeyes!
I hate John Cena
Ha but for real sports
UofL: I just hate the stupidness of their fans, they are so dumb and don't know anything. They blame every lose on the refs, so annoying.
UNC: I don't know it hate is the right word, I respect their program and they're great and they're the one team that consistantly rivals UK in talent and winning, but it &$#%#&@! me off ESPN sucks their D, more than UK trust me.
Florida: So many tools, I get it Tebow was really good in college, get over it he's gone, now you all are lost without him and Urban.
UConn: I HATE JIM CALHOUN such a jackass
Miami Heat: Pretty obvious why
Los Angeles Lakers: Pretty obvious, media hugs their nuts
Oklahoma City Thunder: I like their team, but just hate how their fans have a repuation of being great fans, bs, they got lucky stealing a young team with loads of talent on the rise, I'd like to see how supportive they'd be with the Bobcats roster.
Dallas Cowboys: It's not the 90's anymore, they suck, media loves them and Romo, and their fans think they're better.
Philadelphia Eagles: Dream Team? lol
New York Jets: STFU already, you'll always be little brother to the Giants.
In case you didn't know: I'm a Kentucky, New York Giants, and Portland Trailblazers fan.
I think one of the biggest reasons people hate is because some of the bigger programs/franchises always seem to land the best talent and win (e.g., Lakers, Duke, Yankees, UK).
Anyways we should look at "hate" for what it really is. I hate science and math! Why? because i'm not good at it, it literally stresses me TF out, but all through school i was forced to take courses (against my will, and better judgement) to pass/graduate. I don't intend on using either in my career and I BS'ed my way through so even if i did need it i'd hafta re-learn it.
Now take a look at the team(s) you h8. Do you relish the opportunity to beat them? Yes. You probably pregame, throw a party, gather the troops and homies so you can all witness your team whoopin up on they team you claim you "h8". But you (I) don't do the same for science n math...I dont tell anyone i'm taking a test before it goes down because i wouldn't want them asking how i did. I dread pregaming (studying) because it seems meaningless as long as i pass. But why is it when the team you h8 comes to town there is always a packed house, all the locals get hyped, tickets go way up.
Imagine this...I got a science test next week. "Ahhhh Sh!ttttt, LEGGGOO! i'm going to ace this mutha&$#%#&@!ka, I can't wait man, I can't wait, it's about to be on!" - I've yet to reach that excitement.
Most, (not all) ppl h8 out of fear and envy.
We should hate the bobcats and the hornets because they bring little to no excitement to the game of basketball. They're hardly ever competitive yet they get all the perks of being in the NBA. If you f'up at your job your fired, replaced, get treated poorly. They F'up and it's expected of them so they get a pass? I'd do like philly and boo TF outta them everywhere they went (home n away).
Honestly the only NBA player I truly h8 is Blake Griffin. He's dirty as sh!t and his skills aren't impressive yet but gets all his praise for being more naturally capable than the next guy. I respect LBJ because he has shown considerable improvement each and every year and his work ethic is evident. Sure he had/has a good build but his IQ, court savvy, and skill are comparable to his athleticism. Even Gerald Green has game now! His outside shot has improved soooo much since his HS & early NBA days. Hats off to him. If i admit I am a little envious (hate) of Blake because I wish I could've been born w/ his god given gifts. But you cant bet i'd have my midrange game on lock, and i'd relentlessly work to maximize my talents because others would do bad things to have what he was given.
*sac kings fans should h8 lakers, that I can understand w/ the whole donaghy thing. That was one of the most talented teams to never win lmao.
Yea pretty much
@darkman97, I think allot of hate for teams come from their fans. No offense or nothing but when you say "your vikings" and "your colts" in the same post, you're the type of sports fan I can't stand.
Lakers --- hate the fact that they keep making the playoffs and keep winning championships... Getting them a 17th banner and tying the C's would be devastating to me personally...
Knicks --- I hated them since the Jordan era... I love the fact that they could never get over the Jordan hump... They only got over the Bulls during the time MJ went swingin bats...lol
I hate Melo... So Melo and the Knicks joining forces makes me hate them even more.. :P
Heat --- The Big Three free agency bonanza changed the landscape of the NBA and I hated LBJ for leaving Cleveland..
Patriots --- for denying the Eagles and D-McNabb the SuperBowl... >:-/
well chevilivous no offense taken. I get it sometimes. I also say my Pacers and my Timberwolves. My Gophers and my Boilermakers. Even my Lynx and my Fever. Indiana is my birth state and where I spent most of my life. I now live in Minnesota and cheer them. But I liked Minnesota while I was in Indiana so this isn't a turncoat. Plus with all my teams except Gophers and Boilermakers, they're all in separate conferences. Vikings and Colts hardly play each other. Every year I can hope for my teams to play for the championship . No real conflict of interest until that happens. PS even my fantasy football team is named Indysota. Why can't I support two teams?
Haha, that's not that bad then, at least you have a connection to both teams. Most the people i know who support 2 teams in the same sport don't even know where the 2nd team is on the map let alone a thing about the franchise.
I know some guys up here that claim to like Vikings and Packers. I can't see how you can like rivals. Even I have problems cheering for the Hoosiers since I like Purdue. But I can't ignore the great job Crean is doing recuiting top instate talent. But back when Knight coached, I hated them. Softened up a bit
Notre Dame Football
San Antonio Spurs
All of these were for the same reason. Everybody has that one kid you went to school with who hypes up his favorite teams constantly. All I heard everyday was how Notre Dame was gods gift to football, or how Peyton Manning was his boy toy, or something along those lines. Plus the Spurs beat up on the Suns every year for what seemed like a decade.
I dont hate Harrison Barnes. I love watching him fail time and time again. It brings much pleasure watching him miss shot after shot, then dissappearing when the team needs him most. It's going to suck when he goes pro because I wont get to witness the most overrated player in college basketball history get his 3rd Preseason 1st team All American Award then fail to live up to the expectations for the 3rd time.
i don't hate the cubs because they beat my team, I hate the cubs because their fans are obnoxious. Wrigley Field is Americas biggest bar and the idiotic fans claim their team is going to win the world series every year.
I am a Reds fan and go to Reds game (been to a couple in Wrigley) and I just really dislike the Cubs and their fans.
Hmmmm teams I hate...
