(First off, if it’s been mention I couldn’t find it on here)

But what are y’all thoughts on the Cavs trading that number 1 pick?  For lets say Kevin Love?

If you are Minny and the Cavs would you do it?

What would the Cavs have to add with the pick?

Cavs would be stupid to trade for Love. There is ZERO chance Love would re-sign with Cleveland. Laughable proposition at best…

I agree with you 100%, but then again… stupid is the Cavs specialty.

He can opt in the extra year and that might be enough for the Cavs to trade the pick…

If you watched the Cavs this year you know that they weren’t the terrible team that their record showed…  They gave up a lot of games that they should’ve won…

But let’s say if Kevin Love decides to extend or opt in for an additional year….  Would you do it if you’re Cleveland??

Dan Gilbert will surrender all of his assets to the Wolves for one year of Love simply because……. Hes Dan Gilbert, a true idiot. Also not sure how K Love would feel about his second option being a shoot first overrated point guard.

If I am Cleveland, no I don’t… but will Cleveland do it? Maybe, like I said that’s right up their alley.  Worst case they get the 1st pick next year once K Love leaves.

But let’s be realistic, I see next to zero circumstances where K Love opts in for another year unless it’s to Golden State or Chicago.  Anybody else he is hitting the open market.  It makes more financial sense to do so.

Why take Love on a max deal with only one year guaranteed in Cleveland when you can have Embiid on a rookie deal with around 5 years guaranteed in Cleveland?

Ok, Minnesota sends Kevin Love to the Cavs for the first pick, Andy Varejao (to help make the money work), Tristan Thompson, cash, and the 33rd pick?

Minnesota does this deal in less than a second.

Minny still has their pick at 13 too, along with picks at 40, 44, 53, and the Cavs second round pick at 33.

    Minnesota new starting five:

    PG Ricky Rubio

    SG Andrew Wiggins

    SF Corey Brewer

    PF Tristan Thompson

    C   Nic Pekovic

    Bench:

    PG JJ Barea, Alexey Shved

    SG  Kevin Martin, Chase Budinger

    SF  James Young (13th pick)

PF  Andy Varejao, Jarnell Stokes (33rd pick from Cleveland)

    C    Gorgui Dieng

The best trade for all sides could be Kevin Love and Chase Budinger to the Bulls for Carlos Boozer (and his expiring contract), Jimmy Butler, Tony Snell, 16, 19, 49, cash, and two future first round picks.

Booz can help replace some of Love’s points and boards, Jimmy Butler is an upgrade over Chase Budinger, Tony Snell could be solid, then they have two more first round picks at 16 and 19 to pair with their own pick at 13.  Then they have a lot of second round picks at 40, 44, 49, and 53.

They can go with Stauskas, Young, or Doug McDermott at 13, Shabazz Napier as a pure shooter and a guy who can play with Ricky Rubio in the backcourt, then Cleanthony Early or Adreian Payne at 19.

I dont see the trade benefit to the T.Wolves.  Trading for Love can only be done with atleast 1-2 top ten picks within two years plus a few nicer asset players.  Only other way is star for star.  Bulls should just sign Melo and show him what playoff success is all about : )

Because giving up a potential star in one of Embiid, Wiggins, or Parker, for a guy who isn’t going to resign in Cleveland is flat out dumb.  You want Love for one year, or one of those three for multiple years?
