Why is J.R and Shump Still around?

These two have to be the worst players for the Cavs. They provide nothing what so ever. I would honestly move them for anyone! JR can never consistently hit a shot and is a terrible defender. Shump can't do anything what so ever. Package them and take a chance on someone.

Im so sick of them.

Some ideas to to get anything

Some ideas to to get anything back:
Denver: Murray, Barton

Indiana- Stephenson

Heat- Ellington

Jazz- Hood

Any SG from the Magic

Kent Bazemore

Dallas- Matthews

Just literally take a flyer on anyone.

So yeah, the Nuggets didn't

So yeah, the Nuggets didn't want to trade Murray for Kyrie, but they'll jump on that Shumpert trade. Most players you listed are quality starters, why would anyone consider giving them away for JR Smith or Shumpert?

If you read countless

If you read countless articles of the Denver GM is upset that Murray is underperforming and says that deal seems pretty nice now doesnt it. ( sources Denver Post and and 2 interviews with beat writers) Its noted.

Wes Matthews has asked to be sent to a contender to finish his days. That is why he is on the list. And Cuban is respectful of his players.

Picks would be added to the package for Bazemore.

Ellington is trash so I dont know how you can say he is a solid starter

Rodney Hood is solid so that would be a hard deal to put together.

There is no long term play with Stephenson so picks and other assets would be added.

Literally this all resolves around just getting JR and Shump in the trade. These arent straight up trades.

Going to be honest...

J.R and Tristan got paid due to GM mode lebron activated which is now starting to come back and haunt them now..They paid Shumpert so they had a young asset they thought could be moved later(just a shame his game dropped off a cliff when they paid him)..As they didn't want to have nothing to show for giving up on Waiters..

As for what the Cavs can realistically do is all dependent on what Lebron is planning on doing next season:

If Lebron is staying he gives you two options moving them + the Nets pick for either cap relief

or

a player that fits one of the two criteria: young and semi talented or a Young player entering prime that Lebron believes is a fits a particular role/need...But to be honest I don't know how great a player you would get if the other team has to take on J.Rs + Shumps bad deal..

If Lebron is bailing the Cavs have to keep any young assets they have and go full rebuild(most likely meaning taking a loss when trading player away) or having to wait until bad deals leave the books..

If they use the Nets pick and

If they use the Nets pick and the salary from Smith and/or Shumpert, they can take a star from a floundering team or a rebuilding team.

If Cleveland doesnt get home

If Cleveland doesnt get home court to start the playoffs or bows out early...Lebron may hop on the PA turnpike and head east.

Hood hasn't had the season

Hood hasn't had the season Utah was expecting, but I assure you they're not just going to give him away for either contract you're suggesting. Smiths contract is an albatross as he fell off almost as soon as he got it. Shump is still a top level.defender but he's never been.much else. Keep looking.

I think you all are

I think you all are forgetting that these are nearly all lotto teams begging to get into the Top 5. If that means giving away an average talents to lock up a top 5 pick Im confident in saying 9/10 teams will pull the trigger.

Give out one of those players to take back some terrible contracts that they can attempt to move and snag a future Cavs pick ( doesnt have to be BKs since I know someone will be stupid enough to interpret that.)

I might take Shumpert

I might atke Shumpert in Philly for Jah.

He is trash offensively but he is defensively solid. Klay Thompson literally had his way against JJ Reddick. Philly's bench is weak as it is. Philly needs a big guard to defend other big guards because Bayless and Reddick just can't defend. Fultz is still young.

I would take either Shumpert or Smith for Jah....Smith is a good shooter and gives you some added toughness. Shumpert is a solid defender.

I'd take Shumpert over a 2nd round pick.
