Why don't the NBA end the BS & allow the Coaches to wear UNIFORMS?
I agreed with some of the rules that players should dress in properly attire..Millions of kids look up to those guys and i personally heard alot of kids got tattoos just becuz they said they saw that Iverson had them..And also disagreed with some of the rules..Becuz no way you can get around the fact the most of the rule changes were aim at black players that wore clothing some might consider gang attire...Even injured players sitting on the bench must be dressed in a shirt with a collar or jacket ..No t-shirts,jerseys,chains, medallions or pendants should be wore outside a player's clothes..
Now the league is targeting the way coaches dress..Orlando coach Van Gundy wore mock turtlenecks ..Coaches must wear collar shirts on the sidelines(nothing was mentioned about pants,so what if Nuggets coach Karl can show up bottomless maybe he'll blame his mistake on his illness).Van Gundy fired back and said at least they should name the rule after me..
Maybe the NBA should do like Major League Baseball and allow the coaches to wear uniforms?
Can you imagine Stan Van Gundy in some shorts & tank top?
Or Popovich patroling the sideline in a Spurs warmup suit?
Or Phil Jackson tall old ass wearing the Purple & Gold?
19 of the league coaches are former players so many of them might not have a problem putting on the uniform again...Byron Scott's & Doc Rivers players might complain about having to see or sit near them while they're waering those old Booty Huggin /Daisey Duke looking shorts they use to wear...
Lol I love the uniform idea and hate that Baseball makes their managers wear one actually. Like why does a 80 yeard old manager have to wear a uniform? It's beyond me. And the former 49ers coach I forget his name who was the only coach in the league wearing a full suit during games. That guy was a legend. He use to look like the man stalking the sidelines in a full Armani suit while all the other coaches wore polos.
If I was Van Gundy I'd come to the games wearing the Warm up uniforms, and say hey I'm least i'm in uniform with my players it don't get any more uniform then this. And all his assistants have to go along with it.
Just like I said if I was a player during the time of the dress code I would of came to the games in my uniform. They can't say anything about that. If they don't think coming to the games in your uniform is professional think again, it doesn't get anymore professional then coming to work ready to go!
Just make them have to wear "team attire" like NFL coaches do. The NBA is making wayyyyy too big a deal about this! Focus on the REAL issues David Stern....
