Why does Amare give a FU@K????
If Jimmer Fredette got caught having sex, they would have not kicked him out. No way.
I think the rule is STUPID for ONE reason
- Do you REALLY think ALL those athletes at BYU aren't having sex?
For real, if you think they all aren't you stupid. Simple as that.
1st of all its a stupid rule. i bet jimmer is getting it on every night now, since hes geting player of the year considerations. nd why do u care tht amare cares. you have your own opinion and you state it here. he has his and he says it on twitter, why hate on someone giving thier two cents about something?
I am not hating... I am asking.. He is trying to say it is because the kid was black... That is stupid.. And i dont think the kid did anyting wrong but I do like that he still go suspended even though he was the other player for BYU.. He told on himself and he knew the price he would pay...
I don't think they have. Blakc kid. White chick your kicked out.
There was a reprot that came out about 20 years ago for BYU. It said that 58% of the women admitted in a poll they have premariatial sex. That was 20 years ago. I now. But Serioulsy. Do you think that number has gone down. If it has to what. 40%.
Your telling me all the football players through all these years have never had sex before marriage.
Yet in all the years only two black players got kicked off.
Do the math.
They are having sex. It's when it's an interracial situation you get kicked off.
They want the kid kicked out of school.
So much for practicing what you preach. So much for forgiveness which was Jesus entire message.
That's how Christians justify ignoring the violent parts of their bible.
Like stoning all those who don't accept God. Far as religion. If you can't tell it's nothing more than man giving his
opinion your an idiot. All the books in the bible were written by a man.
Knicks you are wrong about that. One thing about BYU is they take religion wayyyyy seriously no matter who it is. Last year they kicked the leading rusher off there football team off the team for breaking the Rule. You ask people who live out here about how they do thing. If Kobe Bryant was on there team and did the same thing he would have got booted. Religion is above all out here( Mormon Religion). They have stopped females from taking there final to graduate because there skirts were a inch longer then the rules say. ONE INCH!!!! one girl was the daughter of one of there biggest boosters and he was 100 percent supportive of what they did!!! Some of these parents disown there Kids for premarital sex. It's no joke out here and i didn't believe it until i moved out here
I can understand why Amare would say that since he doesn't live out here but people who live out here knows how BYU and diehard Mormons do. There have been others who have done it but they didn't get caught. The ones who have got caught either turn there self's in because of guilt( i know it doesn't seem realistic but it happens alot) or the tell a friend who turns them in because they feel its the right thing to do.
All the athletes that go there though, are they Mormon to begin with???? Does Davies consider himself to be Mormon or is he just going there because they are a local D-1 school that offered him a full scholarship????

If they caught Kobe ( or if he told, because Davies confess about it to a priest/confident from what I read) and BYU was in the same position, it would have been swept under the rug. In the 80's Jim McMahon was leading BYU to bowl games and he was having sex and drinking all the time and they didn't suspend him, they waited one week before graduation to kick him out off school. Other BYU people were rumored to come out and even admit, they had sex while at BYU.
Davies admitted he had sex to a official and he got kicked out, but if BYU was a title favorite and he was Jimmer? He would still be balling today.
I think they are all Mormons but don't quote me on it. I do know 99 percent of them are Mormons. Most none Mormons would never consider going there. He was offered scholarships by All the Schools out here ( Utah St is and has been the best of the schools in basketball for a couple of years now overall). He was recruited by alot of Pac-10 teams as well as Gonzaga
They actually werent as strict back then because the Religion wasn't as strong. They are way different now. I'm not gonna really debate about this one since i live out here and know how things are out here and most people who don't don't understand unless they stay out here for awhile. f Davies would have denied it then he would still be on the team but if a player admits it no matter who it is they are gone. When someone denies it and its one word against the other they cant really do much about it.
Also its not like they aren't doing these things. There are many Football players( and two basketball players) who are doing the same thing but they would never tell on there self.
There was a reprot that came out about 20 years ago for BYU. It said that 58% of the women admitted in a poll they have premariatial sex. That was 20 years ago. I now. But Serioulsy. Do you think that number has gone down. If it has to what. 40%.

Thank you sir......simple logic.
You misunderstand what i said. I'm not saying they aren't doing it im saying they either haven't gotten caught or they haven't told on there self. Big difference
Also you're source obviously didn't taken into account all the players that have gotten kicked off of the sports teams because there have been white and poli guys who have gotten booted. Not to mention all the white non athletes who have gotten booted out of the school.
like i said before I'm not gonna debate about it much since i live out here and have had friends and still have friends that go there. I dont need to go by stats to know what goes on out here. Any one that lives out here knows simple logic is thrown out the window when dealing with Die Hard Mormons
Also forgot to add something many people on here may not know. Alot of these kinds have to go on two year Mormon missions sometime during there college playing days( and even again when they are adults) its mandatory or you can be excommunicated out of the Chruch and asked (more like forced) to leave the school. I really wise some of ya'll could come out here and see, its like awhole nother world
you are a joke, that skirt thing is completly made up, their is know rule about skirt length. I have lived in SLC most of my life. BYU does have some weird rules, but students and student athletes know this rules and if they break them you are kicked out. That does not mean every one follows these rules, I have partied with many students from BYU. Jim mcmahon was not a mormon when he was quarterback at BYU and said he partied and got layed everynight wwith BYU chicks.
You misunderstand what i said. I'm not saying they aren't doing it im saying they either haven't gotten caught or they haven't told on there self. Big difference
It is a big difference and I agreed with that statement. My issue is people saying he should have gotten kicked off. Not fair for the kid. I think we should appulad his honesty because he got the balls saying "yup, I did it" instead of being like the rest and keeping it on the low.
He made a mistake, should have gave him a slap on the wrist (suspend him 2 games, make him do some "extra stuff for the school" in the early part of the summer) and let him play.
Encourage others in their commitment to comply with the Honor Code.
Dress and Grooming Standards
Featured prominently on BYU's website are the dress and grooming standards of the Honor Code. Men are to be clean cut in appearance and expected to maintain that appearance for as long as they are students enrolled at BYU. Clothing is also addressed in that sleeveless, revealing or form fitting clothing is not allowed, whereas shorts are supposed to be knee-length or longer. The standards go into further detail about a ban on any type of piercings, beards, how to trim mustaches and the expectation of wearing shoes. Women have many of the same rules but appropriately more lenient on earrings and stricter on types of clothing such as slits and skirt lengths.
Their honor code is a joke. They don't even live by the rules of Jesus teachings.
Forgiveness. To punish a kid because he wants to have sex is stupid. It's human.Marriage is a man made law. The Mormon's themselves including their founder beleived in polygamy. Some still practice it.
I guess their God was wrong in telling Smith their founder to practice polygamy. Just like God was wrong in the Old Testament. It's &$#%#&@! God. How can he be wrong.
Becuase it's not God. It's a man telling you his opinions on how you should live. So yes it's stupid.
If the human race started with you had to be married to have sex we probably wouldn't be here.
They find a way to justify it just like their stupid horor code. They have no honor. They are just a bunch of people who might as well believe in Zeus.
Conduct and Homosexual Behavior
In 2007 BYU clarified the Honor Code in regards to gay students along with its general conduct standards. The rules clearly laid out for gay students is in line with straight students in that any type of physical intimacy is strictly forbidden. The exact wording on BYU's Honor Code page is "Homosexual behavior is inappropriate and violates the Honor Code. Homosexual behavior includes not only sexual relations between members of the same sex, but all forms of physical intimacy that give expression to homosexual feelings." Standard conduct policies include a ban on gambling, &$#%#&@!ography or any indecent and offensive materials or anything else at odds with the general principles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Residential Living Standards
Residential Living Standards
Residential living standards are also addressed in which visitation rules are listed. Opposite sex visitors are allowed in lobbies but not in bedroom areas unless specified (Helaman Halls). In other buildings (Heritage Halls and others) opposite sex visitors are allowed into lobbies and apartment kitchens but once again not bedrooms.
The complete Honor Code and all of the policies associated with are available for viewing at Honor Code.

@Knicks. i agree i dont think he should have been kicked off nor do i believe in there code but he knew the rules. Just like there are dumb laws and there are penalties for these laws and people break them then get made because they go to jail or get probation.
yes BYU and there rules are a joke, but know matter you you are if you get caught breaking them you are kicked out of school. Maybe that skirt thing is true, but I am sure adminisers don't walk around campus with a ruler measuring skirt length, I know some girls that went to BYU and they always dressed pretty scandalis.
I agree with 8th Deadly Sin, I am not a mormon, and so the rule seems ridiculous to me, BUT he chose to go to BYU and he was caught breaking their rules. It would be unethical for them to not suspend him given the circumstances.
You know whats funny( and sad) they actually do break out the rulers......See y'all he lives out here and doesn't even know how it goes down, i couldn't make this up if i tried lol... its like bizzaro world down there. Now its not like that 100percent of the time because they cant catch everyone but they do catch people. I stay in SLC and its more calm up here, you have Mormons but they are more laxed( couple of die Hards). I have no problem with people doubting me because i didn't believe it when my friends out here told me before i moved out here
I take that very offensively...Mormons and Christians are different. I could refute everything you said about me and my fellow Christians but I'll leave this site to basketball...
I'll give you my email. We can have this discussion. I grew up in the church. Son of a minister. I know BS when I see it. I grew up in it. Which made me study religion. The history of all religions. Please. Let's have it.
The thing that gets me about the Religion is it all started from one man who said God spoke to him and gave him tablets that only he could translate. No other witnesses or anyone else who could translate it but him. That right there would have me pretty suspicious. But i don't knock what others believe in because scientist could do the same to my religion or any other religion out there. One thing i do know is they take great care of this city/state. Crime isn't that bad out here and they keep the city pretty clean
I still dont understand why Amare cares....
Not trying to come off wrong but Amare give aF u@k just like you give a Fu@k about Amare did. Why is it wrong for Amare to have an opinion and we as fans have opinions about stuff all the time. We also disagree about our opinions all the time. If you disagree with him then you disagree with him but acting like he should not have an opinion and share it is dead wrong
God supposedly split the Red Sea to let his people get away from the Egyptians but he needed two books to save your soul.
Put together buy King George. Do you even know who King George was and why he put the bible together. You might as well read a bible buy George W.
Agree with you 100%@shelwton
I am with you Sub zero. Everyone has their opinions about how this or that religion is but if your argument is i wasnt there so how do i know than my argument would be how do you know since you were not there either. It is about your belief and having faith in it. It is obviously not going to be for everybody but everyone has a choice. I don't agree with BYU standards but he went there so he has to deal with the punishment.
Amare made a statements stating his opinion like many of us.
I dont think this whole thing should have gotten so much attention.
The media humiliated that kid by putting his business out there.
If BYU was really on their game, they should not have leaked out why he got kicked out.
They do for a lot of players. Some players you dont know why they got kicked out until after the season.
There's no way BYU could have stopped it from getting out. You know how hard it is to stop something from getting out?..Imagine how many people asked Brandon what happened( including his friends) plus new people asking the school officials( prob paying for some kind of info) or the secretary or anyone who happened to be near the office or has access to the files that are in a office. As noisy as people are these days its almost impossible to keep a lid on any type of controversy of a important athlete
You see how hard it is for sealed records in congress to stay a secret how hard you think it is for a college?
I dont... Just thought it would be a contraversial topic since it involved a NY player, sex, expulsion, and a misunderstood religion... LoL
Lake show you have a point on that but still there has been other stuff that have been kept quiet by schoosl that are not as strict. I am just saying man really that story broke quick. I may be wrong but something just didnt seem right with the story breaking that soon. Utah was able to keep the deron Williams trade a better secret than BYU on this situation.
That's because that's a trade. There's no real controversy there. This is a rule being Broke. Other schools dont have sex rules so this would be on par with a player getting kicked off the team for accepting money. How long does that take once the school has found out? When has anything every been kept under wraps in sports once a player admits it to the school? When someone is kicked off a team it doesn't take long for it to get out. On top of that this isn't something that is mandatory to keep private, just like someone getting kicked off the team for flunking classes
Reading BYU's rules makes me want to streak through their quad so badly.
I think nudity leads to expulsion.
Nudity with a boner leads to capital punishment.
Appreciate it Sheltwon, means a lot..you too Lake Show (aka Quincey lol) You don't believe in what I do but you ain't disrespectin it so I got mad respect for you
As for the Amare thing, I don't think it's bad that he has an opinion about it and that he voiced it out. I just think he should worry about other things.
It is ovbious that some of you dont read.. I just said:
"I dont... Just thought it would be a contraversial topic since it involved a NY player, sex, expulsion, and a misunderstood religion... LoL"
I dont care at all but at the time, the forum was kind of dead and I wanted to see a heated conversation!! LoL... Geeze.. Yall need to calm down for a second.. Also, i thougth if I did it sans profanity, it wouldnt have the same effect...

Did yall see Amare's tweet?? Something about BYU suspending that kid?? Why does he care?? He is trying to make it about race.....
IMO, I like the fact that he got suspended... I dont think he did anything wrong but he knew the rules and he told on himself... He knew what was going on.. I like it that there is still some school that sticks by its rules no matter who you are...
Amare needs to worry about getting his A$S handed to him by the CAVS!!!
