Why are we tripping on who got a closer mock draft when it is clear a lot of Gm's screwed up
Yeah, but setting up a mock in a contest like this, you have to guess what GMs will do, not what you (or even some other GM) would do. Everyone knew there were teams looking to make moves predicated on the impending free agents, and everyone knows there are good and bad GMs - the contest is to guess correctly, not come up with the perfect draft based on your opinion.
Some of these Gm's are hard to predict. Who knew Minny with all their picks would come away with 4 small forwards. Who knew Knicks would pick who they did. I mean I doubt anybody had their picks correct.
Not me, that's for sure. Fields is a nice player - I live in NorCal, so I got to see several Stanford games this year. But someone (I forget who now) had it exactly right - the D-League is loaded with guys just like him.
I doubt 1% of people even had him in their mock, and probably no one had him going to the Knicks based on what they needed - I figured if they went with a wing, it would at least be someone like Hobson with some upside.
Like I said, good and bad GMs - I think we know which Walsh is. I'm sure Lebron is dying to play with that collection of stiffs & for a front office that doesn't know their a$$es from a hole in the ground. It's amazing how poorly that franchise has been run - all that work to get over Zeke, and then do this right on the eve of trying to lure Lebron...amazing.

This is the reason a lot of Mocks that most people made got jacked up. Even guys who get info from teams were off on their mocks.
My thing will be what players people were high on will actually be NBA players.
Getting picked high in the draft does not guarantee success.
